The National Park Service has scheduled a series of public meetings for next month to discuss the proposed Kentucky Lincoln National Heritage Area, which would include LaRue and Hardin counties.

The designation could bring in federal funding for efforts such as revitalization, maintenance and education.

One of the meetings is planned for 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at the Lincoln Museum Community Room on the square.

Hardin County hosts a meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. that day at the Elizabethtown Tourism & Convention Bureau.
