The following cases of Driving Under the Influence and the resolution of those cases are found in LaRue District Court: ADE is an abbreviation for Alcohol Driver Education, KAPS stands for Kentucky Alternative Program. A service fee is added to all DUIs and court costs are added to all charges. Birth year is in parenthesis.

Dennis B. Brown (1993), operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, under age 21, guilty; speeding 15 mph over, merged; license to be in possession, dismissed by motion of county attorney; possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle, guilty. License revoked 30 days. Charged Aug. 2, 2013, disposed Oct. 30, 2013.

Cherry Sheppard (1958), operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, guilty; speeding, merged; promoting contraband, guilty; possession of controlled substance, second, guilty; tampering with physical evidence, dismissed without prejudice by county attorney. Fined $630 for DUI, operator license suspended for 90 days, sentenced to four days, three suspended. Fined $378 for contraband charge, fine probated, sentenced to 30 days, suspended, ordered to pay $100 to Hodgenville Police Department drug fund. Charged Dec. 12, disposed Jan. 22.

Amanda Siroki (1990), speeding, six months diversion; possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle, merged; operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, amended down to reckless driving, guilty. Court costs waived. Fined $248. Charged July 27, disposed Jan. 8.

Michael Nehls (1984), operating motor vehicle while under influence of alcohol or drugs, guilty; operating vehicle with expired operator license, guilty. Fined $873. Sentenced to two days, one day suspended, credit for one day served, probated for two years, operator license suspended 90 days, ADE, court costs of $130 waived. Charged Jan. 1, disposed Jan. 15.

Nicholas A. Simpson (1993), operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, guilty. Sentenced to two days, suspended, operator license suspended 90 days, court costs of $143 merged with service fee, fined $773. Charged June 1, disposed Jan. 15.

Christy L. Ferguson (1980), speeding 18 mph over, merged; operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, guilty; careless driving, merged. Operator license suspended 90 days, ADE, KAPS, sentenced to 48 hours, suspended, fined $743. Charged Nov. 3, disposed Jan. 15.

Dwight E. Gellhaus (1957), improper lane, merged; fail to or improper signal, merged; operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, second, aggravator, guilty. Sentenced to 14 days, credit for two days served; fined $893, one year ADE, KAPS, operator license suspended, $130 court costs waived. Charged Jan. 11, disposed Jan. 22.

Christopher Z. Metcalf (1988), operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, guilty; failure to produce insurance card, dismissed by motion of prosecutor; operating on suspended or revoked operator license, guilty; possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle, merged. Operator license suspended 90 days, fined $748; $130 court costs waived, sentenced to 10 days, suspended, credit for two days, APES, KAPS. Charged Jan. 11, disposed Jan. 15. 

Joshua C. Reuter (1985), operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, Alford plea (Reuter admitted the circumstances would have likely led to a guilty verdict, but maintains his innocence.). Operator license suspended 90 days, ADE, KAPS, fined $773, sentenced to 48 hours, credit for 24 hours served, 24 hours suspended. Charged July 5, 2013, disposed Feb. 5.
