After working as a nail technician at Nail Art nail salon in Lebanon Kentucky for 8 years, Helen Cheang decided she wanted to open a salon of her own.

“I like it here in Hodgenville,” said Cheang. “It’s a small town and people are friendly.”

Nail Art is a full-service nail salon, offering manicures, pedicures, massage, acrylics, airbrush nail art, gel polish and shellac, as well as a full line of OPI nail polish.

Cheang said she’s had a lot of people come in for weddings and was busy for prom.

“Right now a lot of women are going on vacation and like to have their nails done before they go. Most get the French manicure,” Cheang said.

Cheang said business has been steady and she’s looking to hire more technicians to better serve her customers.

When asked what her favorite part about working in the salon is Cheang said, “I enjoy doing nails and getting to know my customers and their stories.”

Cheang lives in Hodgenville, is married and has a 5-year-old son, Jayden.

Nail Art is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. Call 270-358-5401 to make an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome.
