My Gal Boutique and Invite Me pair up on the square

-A A +A

Linda Lindsey and Claudia Silva are the business duo of My Gal Boutique and Invite Me on the square in Hodgenville. They offer unique gifts and other products to LaRue County.

My Gal Boutique

My Gal Boutique started as a formal wear consignment shop in a different Hodgenville location. Linda Lindsey stocks wedding gifts, local artisan crafts, wedding dresses and other clothing. She runs a tuxedo rental business from the location as well.

“We love accessories here,” Lindsey added. Some of the accessories are purses, neck scarves, and jewelry. She does some of the artwork herself. Clothing decorated by Lindsey with vinyl prints and rhinestone words and designs are available. Unique to the shop is the glass etching that Lindsey does. Monograms and other designs decorate stemware and other glassware. Many people use the customized glassware for weddings and then have the items as permanent keepsakes.

Invite Me

Hand in hand with My Gal Boutique is Invite Me planning and products. Claudia Silva works mornings for the schools with the English as a Second Language curriculum and then does party planning and paper products like invitations in the afternoons. “They tell me what they want, and I do as little or as much as they want,” she said. She provides party favors, engraved paper products and other customized services for events.

For example, if a customer does not want her to provide the printed product, Silva will provide just a digital file that she designed. She said that some people already have the card stock paper and a good printer. The customer can then print on their own printer with their own paper the personalized product Silva designed. “That’s how I help them,” she said.

The two rent the lower level space from the Masons who own the building. “They like what we’ve done with the building,” Lindsey said. The two have painted and arranged the rooms more like an art gallery than a store.

The two report that October/November are busy for them since there has been an increase in Fall weddings and events. Spring is also a busy time for them because of proms and other Spring and Summer events.

They are also planning on expanding what they offer. They hope to help build Hodgenville’s appeal as a shopping destination. They are looking to include high-end hand-crafted items such as repurposed bourbon barrel crafts.

The businesses are open at 13 Lincoln Sq. in Hodgenville 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Summer; in Fall, hours are 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.; in Spring, they are open 10 a.m. until 6 and beyond as needed for tuxedo rental.
