Man Arrested for drug possession at Salem Lake

On March 17, Kentucky Conservation Officer Lee Keith was patrolling area lakes in Larue County when he observed John Sheldon, 57, of Magnolia, asleep in his vehicle at Salem Lake. Concerned for Sheldon’s welfare, Officer Keith made contact with him. Upon contact, Officer Keith could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Further investigation led to the recovery of bagged marijuana, Hydrocodone and OxyContin, drug paraphernalia, and a large sum of cash. Conservation Officer Keith arrested Sheldon and lodged him in the Larue County Detention Center and charged him with second degree trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Trafficking in Marijuana Less Than 8 oz., Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Prescription Drugs Not in Proper Container.
