One Sonora family is working to provide local farmers and residents a one stop shop for all their farm supply needs.

Sonora Farm Supply, located at 189 Maple Street in Sonora, opened in May of 2011. “We’re passionate about agriculture and we’re a farming family,” said Ashley Gardner, store manager, “Sonora needed a feed store.” The nearest farm supply stores are more than ten miles from Sonora.

Owned by George and Shirley Sadler and managed by their children Boomer, Ashley and Vawneda. “We’re definitely a family owned business; there are always kids and pets running around. My parents have four grandkids and they like for them to be here.”

They strive to offer a wide variety of goods and services from die cast farm themed toys to Bog boots, gun safes, BB guns and collector knives. You can get your hunting and fishing license, they carry yeti coolers, and even corn cob pipes. Sonora Farm Supply is a full stock Purina dealer as well.

“We really try to get a feel for what people want,” Gardner added “organic chicken feed is something many customers asked for so we started carrying it.”

Just because you saw the store in winter doesn’t mean that you will come back to the same store the next season; “In spring we will we do chick days,” said Gardner, “In the summer we do live plants outdoor furniture and our store really changes from season to season and even from day to day; we’re always getting something new.”

They are also a full greyhound station where you can purchase tickets and there are pick-ups and drop offs 365 days. With Greyhound you can also ship and receive freight.

In addition to the Greyhound station they are also a U-haul rental dealer.

You can also find the village post office at Sonora Farm Supply, where you can purchase stamps, flat rate boxes and ship your packages, “We have a post office here in Sonora, but it is only open six hours a day and not at all on Saturday. This way if someone can’t make it to the post office before it closes we are here to help.” Gardner said.

Their hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and closed on Sunday. You can visit their website at www.sonorafarmsupply.com or for daily update find them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/SonoraFarmSupply. Their phone number is 270- 949-2276.
