LaRue County Schools "back-to-school" information

-A A +A

Hepatitis vaccine

There has been a recent change in requirements for immunizations in order to attend school. Effective July 1, 2018 ALL students in kindergarten through twelfth grade must show proof they have received at least one dose of the two dose Hepatitis A vaccine to attend school.

If your child has already received two doses of Hepatitis A vaccine, he or she will not be required to receive it again; however a new updated Immunization Certificate will need to be turned in to your child’s school as proof. Many students already have this vaccination, but at the time it was not required to be listed on immunization certificates. The new certificates now have a place for this information. It is your responsibility to contact your child’s physician to make sure he or she has received this vaccination and obtain an updated immunization certificate that verifies this. Our school will require this of all students prior to attending the first day of school for the year 2018-2019.

Feel free to send copies of current valid immunization certificates in at any time.

If you’re interested in having the Nurse Practitioner, Katie Cruse, administer these shots please call her office to set up an appointment at 1-844-435-0900.
