JUST ASK: On the trail of Andy Griffith

-A A +A

On the trail of Andy Griffith …

In our July 11 issue, a reader asked if Andy Griffith had visited LaRue County in the 1970s. We couldn’t find any references to a visit in back issues.

However, one of our long-time readers, Joyce Routt of Buffalo, said she recalled reading that Mr. Griffith indeed spent a night at long-closed Park 84. The column, which she believed was at the top middle of page 2 (during the 1970s), spoke of LaRue County happenings. Griffith’s name was misspelled “Griffin” but Routt knew it was the TV actor.
