Job fair caters to veterans

Job seekers who are transitioning personnel, veterans, members of the National Guard, reservists and their dependents will have an opportunity to meet nearly 45 employers at a March 29 job fair. The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the American Legion Post 113 in Elizabethtown.

The free event is sponsored by the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training in conjunction with the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veteran.

Attendees should be prepared for interviews, bring proof of military service such as a DD214, VA or military ID card and a current resume.

“Our emphasis for this job fair will be on military veteran job seekers and companies looking to hire them. This is a great opportunity for job seekers and employers to connect in person and make multiple contacts in a short time period,” said Hector “Jim” Cruz, local veterans employment representative (LVER) with OET.
