The Beauty Bar has a vintage vibe with an upbeat and energetic twist. Decorated with rich gold accessories and pastel colors, this salon reminds one of walking into the set of a 1950s movie.

Ashley England is the owner of Beauty Bar, a multi service salon on South Walters Avenue.

“I have a passion for hair!” said England, “I always have. I’ve been in pageants and around cosmetology for a long time and it’s just what I love.”

England graduated from the Elizabethtown Beauty School. “I’m very proud of where I went to school; I was one of the last students to graduate from E-town Beauty School. After I graduated, I worked in a corporate salon but I didn’t like it; it wasn’t personal.”

England decided to set out on her own and took over Action Hair Studio on Kirkpatrick Avenue. When the lease was up on the Kirkpatrick Avenue location, England found an opening at the South Walters Avenue location. She moved right in and gave the little shop her signature style.

“I’m really proud of myself and having my own salon. It’s been hard work and fun,” said England. Working right alongside of England for the past 3 years is Erin Huff.

“We love our clients, they become our family, we worry about them when they’re sick and it breaks our hearts when we lose one.”

England is a 2005 graduate of LaRue County High School and resides in Howardstown.

Beauty Bar offers haircuts, coloring, facial waxing, manicure and pedicures as well as tanning. They are located at 107 South Walters Avenue in Hodgenville. To make an appointment call 270-763-7072.
