Indictments are not proof of guilt

By Linda Ireland

Joey Stanton, recently appointed chief administrative officer for the LaRue County Jail, has voiced in several interviews the need to reduce contraband in the jail.

Two inmates, accused of bringing cell phones into the detention center, were indicted by a LaRue County grand jury July 19.

Jason Kitzero, 33, of Bonnieville, was charged with first-degree contraband after allegedly bringing a cell phone and charger in to the jail June 28.

He was charged also with manufacturing methamphetamine June 2.

Bail was set at $5,000 cash only.
