More residents in LaRue, Hart and Hardin counties now have access to 4G LTE – the fastest, most-advanced 4G network – on their Bluegrass Cellular wireless Internet devices.

Bluegrass Cellular has expanded its 4G LTE wireless Internet network in and around the Kentucky city of Upton. The expansion provides high-speed Internet along I-65 north and south of Upton, along 31W north and south of Upton, along Highway 224 east of Upton, as well as along Millerstown Road west of Upton. Coverage is also improved along Lone Star Road south of Millerstown Road.

The 4G LTE wireless Internet network is one of two high-speed networks Bluegrass Cellular is building in Central Kentucky. Bluegrass currently operates two 4G LTE networks: one for wireless Internet devices, like wireless home routers, and one for mobile devices, like smartphones, tablets and cell phones. While this particular expansion affects Bluegrass Cellular wireless Internet devices only, last July, the company announced it will complete the build-out of its high-speed 4G LTE network for mobile devices by late this year.

“We’re dedicated to bringing the latest and greatest in wireless technology home to Kentucky,” said Barry Nothstine, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Bluegrass Cellular. “This expansion is a great example of that. Because of these new towers, more of our wireless subscribers will have access to the most-advanced wireless network there is. And that’s something we’re very proud of.”
