Anna Brown is a testament to putting your mind to something and succeeding. Brown was employed at Elizabethtown Sportswear as a machine operator. When the factory closed, Brown was left wondering what she was going to do.

“I was able to get some help from a dislocated worker program and had some options to choose from cosmetology was one of them, so that’s what I chose.” Brown said, “I was the oldest student in class but that didn’t phase me. I stuck with it and graduated and here I am!”

Brown says she enjoys what she does, “I get to talk to new people all the time and it’s been really good. I’ve been so blessed.”

“I know what it is to be a working person,” Brown said, “The working person is always welcome here. I’ve gotten a lot busier since I’ve opened, but walk-ins are still welcome.”

Brown says she strives to make everyone who walks in her salon feel like family.

Brown recently had a new sign put on her front window that has received many compliments.

“It’s been good, I’ve enjoyed being here. You can do anything you want! As long as you put forth the effort, you can do it. I’ve truly been blessed.” Brown said.

Brown is a LaRue county native and is married to Marshall Brown, they have a son, Jody, and four grandchildren.
