Company stops listing amount paid for pipeline easements

-A A +A

By Forrest Berkshire, Landmark News Service

The companies looking to put a controversial pipeline through Nelson as well as 12 other counties across the state continue to acquire easements from property owners.

At the end of November, at least 21 easement agreements were filed with the Nelson County Clerk’s Office.

The company paid out well in excess of $120,000 for the rights of way, although the full amount is not known.

The deeds to seven of the easements list the amounts paid and total more than $120,000. But at least 14 others filed in November list only $10 as the amount paid.
