Weight loss program
The LaRue County Health Department – in partnership with the LaRue County Extension office – is offering a 10-week weight loss program at the LaRue County Senior Center, 112 N. Walters Ave., Hodgenville. The class begins at 11:30 a.m. and is open to anyone in the community. Hosparus needs volunteers
Hosparus will host a free training for volunteers at 5:30-9 p.m. June 18-19 at its Elizabethtown office, 105 Diecks Dr. Participants must attend both sessions. To register or for more information, contact Annette Jones at 270-737-6300 or ajones@hosparus.org.
Hosparus volunteers help with patient and family support, administrative duties, bereavement groups and fundraising. Hosparus volunteers must be in good health, have available transportation and complete a training and application process.

Free Seminar: Smart Start – Business Basics
The UK Small Business Development Center will host a free business orientation seminar “Smart Start – Business Basics” 5-7 p.m. June 19 at the Hardin County Public Library, 100 Jim Owen Dr., Elizabethtown. Training will include the how-to’s of starting, feasibility and legal structure to licensing and permitting requirements. To register, call the UK Small Business Development Center at 270-765-6737.
Dance: Prime Time Band to perform

Goodtime Cruisers Cruise-In
The Goodtime Cruisers will have a classic car cruise-in 4-8 p.m. June 21 on Lincoln Square. Concessions will be available.

LaRue County Fair
The LaRue County Fair is June 23-28.

County Fair Pageant
The Miss LaRue County Fair Pageant is 8:30 p.m. June 23. For applications or more information, call Sandy Bell at 270-769-8269.

Public hearing: County Road Aid
LaRue Fiscal Court will hold a public hearing 9 a.m. June 24 for the purpose of taking citizen’s comments regarding the possible uses of the county road aid. Oral or written comments can be submitted. For more information, call 270-358-9903 by noon on June 23.

Bingo at the Library
The LaRue County Public Library will host bingo 5 p.m. June 26. Call 270-358-3851 to register.

Blood drive in New Haven
There will be a blood drive 9 a.m.-2 p.m. June 29 at New Haven/Rolling Fork Fire Department, 362 Center St., New Haven.

Park has reduced services on June 30
Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Park will have reduced visitor services June 30 due to employee safety training. The Birthplace Unit will be open 8 a.m.-6:45 p.m.; Boyhood Home Unit at Knob Creek will be open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. There will be no interpretive programs offered at Knob Creek. There will be three interpretive programs offered at the Birthplace Unit at 10:45 a.m., 2:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.
