LaRue County High Schools’ 60th Graduation Ceremony will be held at 8 p.m. this Friday, May 24.

The ceremony is planned to take place at the LCHS football field in Hodgenville. Gates will open at 6 p.m. Class of 2019 graduating students are required to meet in the High School Cafeteria by 6:30 p.m.

Each graduating student has been granted 6 tickets in the event that it rains. LCHS Principal Denise Skaggs stated, “In the event it rains, we will move the ceremony indoors to the gym. This will ensure that anyone with a ticket will be able to get into the gym first. Hopefully it will not rain and we won’t have to make any adjustments.”

Skaggs requests that spectators continue their tradition of dignity and respect during the graduation ceremony. School officials also request that all applause be held until all graduates have been announced and have received their diplomas.

“No airhorns, no megaphones, or umbrellas will be permitted,” Skaggs said. “Once again, if it rains we will move graduation inside.”

Skaggs said seats are on a “first-come, first-serve” basis for those planning to attend the graduation. She said school staff and law enforcement officers will be assisting with parking and seating. The parking plan is pictured at right for those attending Friday’s event.

For the second year in a row, those unable to attend Friday’s ceremony will have the opportunity to watch through a live streaming video that can be found on the LaRue County School website www.larue.k12.ky.us

The webpage will provide directions to how to watch the ceremony live.

A recap of the graduation ceremony will be featured in the May 29 edition of The LaRue County Herald News.
