Due to the length and lateness of Monday night’s city council, the story will be published in next week’s Herald News.

Highlights of the meeting include:

• The council tabled a request to name a small street off Tanner Road. One family lives on the street and has requested it be named after them: Andrews. The council is considering naming it after Georgetown School, as the school was located there.

• The council agreed to order turnout gear for Hodgenville firefighters.

• The council tabled first reading of an ethics ordinance and will discuss it at the April meeting.

• The council tabled discussion of the training reimbursement ordinance.

• The council, at the request of two City Hall employees, voted unanimously to alter the hours City Hall is open. Current hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with one hour for lunch.

Effective April 1, office hours will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a half hour lunch.
