Nearly a month after a woman's body was found off Interstate 65 in Hardin County, authorities have identified her as Madiha E. Roshdy Hafzalla, 27, of Nashville, Tenn.

An Egyptian national, she was discovered May 29 by crews mowing off the northbound lanes of I-65 near the 99-mile marker.

The body bore signs of head trauma, investigators said, and likely had been left by the side of the road several days before it was discovered. Authorities released photos of some of the woman’s clothing and jewelry hoping to prompt tips from the public.

“Due to a collective group of people, we’ve got this body identified,” Hardin County Deputy Coroner Kenneth Spangenberger said Wednesday night.

She had been reported missing in Nashville. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is working the missing persons case, according to a statement from Kentucky State Police.

Media reports indicate Nashville Police have identified a suspect in Roshdy’s death.

The Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville and forensic pathologist, Dr. Emily Craig, identified the Hafzalla.
