4-H Summer Day Camps

LaRue County youth ages 9 to 18 years old are invited to participate in a variety of summer day camps throughout the month of July at the LaRue County Extension Office. 4-Hers will also be able to create projects that may be entered in the upcoming county fair. Day camp options include:

Arts & Photography – Wednesday, July 3, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Extension Office (807 Old Elizabethtown Rd., Hodgenville). There is a $6 fee to cover the cost of materials. Participants will create drawings, paintings and photography entries that will be eligible for the county fair.

Fun with Food – Tuesday, July 9, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Extension Office. Register by 4 p.m. on July 2 by calling 270-358-3401. There will be a $6 fee to cover the cost of materials. Participants will learn recipes for quick and healthy snacks as well as recipes to create for fair entries. Each member will also get to create a meal planning bulletin board to take home.

Fancy Plants – Tuesday, July 16, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Extension Office. Register by 4 p.m. on July 2 by calling 270-358-3401. There will be an $8 fee to cover the cost of materials. Participants will work on live plant arrangements including terrariums, dish gardens and herb gardens.

“Fair”ly Trendy – Monday, July 22, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Extension Office. Register by 4 p.m. on July 15 by calling 270-358-3401. There will be a $6 fee to cover the cost of materials. Participants will: create an arm knitted blanket, decorate a waste basket (bring your own), make invitations and thank you cards, and create a color collage.

Any member that wants to register for all 4 day camps can save $6 and pay a total of $20 for materials for all 4 classes. If you have any questions regarding any of the
