  • Lady Hawks lose to Elizabethtown

    The Elizabethtown Lady Panthers dismantled the LaRue County Lady Hawks last Monday night with a score of 90-11.

    The game featured Lady Panther star Erin Boley, who lives in Hodgenville. She was recently named a McDonald’s All-American and she is currently listed as the fifth best high school girls basketball player in the nation according to ESPN.

    During the game last Monday, Boley reached the 3,000 career point mark and she now holds the record at Elizabethtown for the most career points. She scored 22 points during the game against the Lady Hawks.

  • Hawks beat Thomas Nelson

    The LCHS boys varsity basketball team beat the Thomas Nelson Generals 62-47 last Saturday in the Nathan McCurry Classic tournament.

    With the game against Glasgow last Tuesday being canceled because of inclement weather, the game against Thomas Nelson was the Hawks first game since beating Bullitt Central 63-38 on January 19.

  • LCMS Mat Hawks finish fourth

    The LaRue County Middle School Mat Hawks finished in fourth place overall out of 19 teams during the region 1 tournament last Saturday in Cadiz. The Region 1 individual tournament serves as a qualifier for the KSWA Middle School State tournament. Only the top four individuals in each weight class advance.

    Boys JV

    The LCHS Hawks JV team had no games this past week and they are now 4-3 on the season. Their next game is at home on Thursday, February 9 at 6 p.m. against Nelson County.

    The LCHS freshman Hawks lost to John Hardin last Thursday 57-44 and they are 3-3 on the season. Their next game is away on Thursday, February 4 at 6 p.m. against Marion County.

    Lincoln’s Birthday 5K

    The Lincoln’s Birthday 5K run will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 5 at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School. Preregistration is $20 for adults and $10 for children who are school age or younger. On-site registration is $25 for adults and $15 for children.   • Hawks steamroll Bullitt Central...

    The LCHS Hawks varsity basketball team went 1-1 last week and they ended the series on a high note by routing the Bullitt Central Cougars 63-38.

    The Hawks were in command of the game from the start as they led 18-5 at the end of the first quarter and 43 to 23 at the end of the second quarter. The Hawks held their 20 point lead after halftime, leading 52-32. The Hawks put the game away in the fourth quarter with a final score of 63-38.

  • Lady Hawk beat Bullitt Central...

    The LCHS Lady Hawks varsity basketball team picked up an exciting 53-50 win against the Bullitt Central Lady Cougars last Monday night.

    The Bullitt Central win brought the Lady Hawks record to 7-12 on the season. The Lady Hawks were supposed to play North Bullitt last Friday, but the game was cancelled due to Winter Storm Jonas. The game has yet to be rescheduled.

  • LCMS basketball teams finish...

    The LaRue County seventh grade Boys Basketball team played in the finals of the Conference Tournament last Tuesday against TK Stone Middle School.   The Hawks were defeated by TK Stone by a score of 45-36.    

  • Wrestling matches canceled due...

    The LCMS and LCHS wrestling matches were cancelled last week because of Winter Storm Jonas.

    LCMS Mat Hawks Head Coach Jack LaRue said his teams match last Saturday has now been postponed until this Saturday because of the storm.

    The LCHS Mat Hawks also had their Louisville Central/Male Tri meet cancelled last Wednesday and the Capital City Classic was cancelled last Saturday because of the snow storms. The matches have yet to be rescheduled.
