  • LCHS Boys Freshman Results

     The LCHS Freshman basketball team opened their season last Thursday night against North Hardin High School. The Hawks opened up a 31-3 lead at the half and cruised the 58-34 victory. They are now 1-0 on the season and their next game is at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 10 against the Hart County Rebels in Munfordville.

  • Lady Hawks 1-2 on season

    The LCHS Lady Hawks varsity basketball team is 1-2 on the season after suffering losses to Meade County and Bardstown this past week.

    The Lady Hawks lost to the

    Bardstown Lady Tigers 58-49 in the Corky Cox Classic last Saturday.

    The Lady Hawks jumped out to an early 17-15 lead. However, the Lady Tigers took control and lead 30-25 at halftime. The Lady Hawks would never regain the lead as they were behind 40-35 at the end of the third quarter and played from behind in the fourth quarter with a final score of 58-49.

  • LCHS wrestling finishes 1st place

    The LaRue County High School wrestling team traveled to Tell City, Indiana last Saturday and participated in the Tell City Duals. The team took first place overall and won every match.

    As a team, LaRue County finished 48-30 vs. Jefferstown, 49-29 vs. Tecumseh, 45-31 vs. Tell City, 65-12 vs. Providence and 60-18 vs. Iroquois.

  • Hawks beat Holy Cross

    The The LaRue County Boys’ varsity basketball team won their first game of the season last Saturday against the Holy Cross Cougars 61-52.

    The score was close throughout the game as the Hawks were tied with the Cougars 15-15 at the end of the first quarter and 27-27 at the half. After halftime, the Hawks started to pull away from the Cougars leading 39-37 at the end of the third quarter before putting the game away in the fourth quarter with a final score of 61-52.

  • 40 years of LaRue Lady Hawks...

    Friday, December 11 at 6:30p.m. the Lady Hawks basketball team will be playing District Rival Hart County. During half time of the game, the first Lady Hawk Basketball Team will be introduced. The Class of 1974-75 members are Judy Chelf, Fran Hatcher, Shirley Cobb, Tammy Priddy, Patsy Richards, Amber Guthormson, Sue Carter, Nancy Fultz, Coach Chris Reed, Phyllis Boone, Ola Cobb, Kim Cox, Rhonda Waddell, Rhonda Henderson, Debbie Thompson, Linda Duncan, and Georgia Handley.

  • LCMS Boys’ Basketball continue...

    LaRue County Middle School boys’ basketball teams travelled to J.T. Alton in Vine Grove on Monday, November 23.  Both the 7th and 8th grade teams won hard fought victories.  The 7th Grade won by a score of 34-30 and the 8th grade won by a score of 38-34.   The two wins brought the 7th and 8th grade conference records to 6-1.

    Very seldom does a basketball player come around who possesses all the necessary skills to be an outstanding basketball player. For Sophomore Shane King the ceiling of basketball ability reaches very high.

    King will play a valuable role for the Hawks this season as he will be the catalyst to get the Hawks going up and down the court in an up tempo style of play. King possesses the athletic ability to blow by opponents and finish around the rim.

    ECTC Soccer Programs Hosting Informational Meetings for Prospective Athletes

    Elizabethtown Community and Technical College’s men’s and women’s soccer programs are inviting anyone interested in playing soccer for the college next fall to attend an informational meeting in December. These sessions are open to current high school seniors and any current or prospective ECTC student.

  • National Runner-up team for 13-...

    Emily Pearman—5k (22:13) placed 84th out of 126 for the Foot Locker Championships South Region, representing Team Kentucky Elite. Pearman’s team was the National Runner-up for the 13-14 year old age division.

    Taylor Full—5k (23:43) placed 106th out of 126. Full was also on the National Runner-up Team Kentucky Elite 13-14 year old girls.
