  • LCMS Girls’ 7th grade volleyball...

    The 7th grade Lady Hawks fell in the first round of their post-season tourney to a very solid T.K. Stone team last Thursday, March 23 at T.K. Stone Middle School.

    The Lady Hawks didn’t go away quietly as it took T.K. Stone three sets to win the match by the scores of(21-14, 17-21 and 21-9. Despite the loss, Head Coach Kendrick Bryan said he isproud of the play of Macie Sandidge, Ryan Brooke Puckett, Lydia Goode, and M. Phillips.

  • Baseball and softball update -...

    For youth baseball and softball enthusiasts, it’s one of the greatest times of the year. Although the youth baseball and softball games are still a couple of weeks away, teams have already been drafted and practice has either started for some teams or will soon.

    According to Maureen Denham, secretary and treasurer of the youth baseball board, the LaRue County Youth Baseball League has a total of 218 youth baseball participants for this upcoming season and 104 participants in youth softball.

    5K supports Relay for Life

    A community family event including a 5 K run/walk will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, April 8 at First Baptist Hodgenville located at 730 Tonieville Road in Hodgenville. The entry fee is $25 and supports Relay for Life. For more information contact the church at 270-358-3193.

    1sr place- medal winner and the only one for the LCHS boys or girls teams:  Emily Pearman 3200 meter run.

    4 x800- Clair Keller, Emily Pearman, Tori Stinnett and Avery Murray 7th place

    100 Hurdles- Aaleiyah Wyatt 6th place and Kailynd Lewis 7th place

    4 x 100 meter Relay:  Destiny Kirby, Jada Hunter-Hays, Sara Warren and Jackie Rigdon-5th place

  • LCMS wrestling banquet held

    The LaRue County High School Wrestling Team celebrated their 2016-17 season with a banquet on Sunday, March 19.

    Several wrestlers were recognized with awards and statistical awards were also given out. The awards given out were as follows:

    JV Award – Jake Gardner.

    JD Watts Teammate Award – Levi Goodin.

    Granby Award – Noah Davis and Dalton Bell.

    Outstanding Wrestler – Matt Steven.

    I recently ran across an inspirational quote that reads, “Respect is earned, honesty is appreciated, love is gained, and loyalty is returned.” When putting together this feature article for Senior Lady Hawks Softball player Kourtnee Davenport, it became apparent that there is a distinct correlation between the two.
