    Lincoln’s Birthday 5K

    The Lincoln’s Birthday 5K run will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 5 at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School. Preregistration is $20 for adults and $10 for children who are school age or younger. On-site registration is $25 for adults and $15 for children.     Basketball has always come naturally to Ivy Brown, a 2014 LaRue County High School graduate who is having a breakout sophomore season as a member of the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

    As a starter on an NCAA tournament bubble team, Brown is boasting huge numbers and is a major reason the Hilltoppers are 20-5 on the season and 11-3 in the Conference USA.

    Brown, through 25 games, is averaging 12.2 points and a team-best 9.2 rebounds per game, putting her within arms reach of a double-double average.

  • Steven places third in state...

    Matt Steven was the only medalist for the LCHS Mat Hawks at the KHSAA state wrestling tournament that was held in Lexington last Saturday. The Mat Hawks placed 20th in the state and sixth in the small school division.

    Steven (44-2) scored 19 team points and finished third after going 6-1 in his weight class that consisted of 32 wrestlers from across the state.

  • Hawks finish season with two wins

    The LCHS boys varsity basketball team finished their regular season by winning the last two games on their schedule.

    The Hawks defeated the Elizabethtown Panthers 61-57 last Tuesday night.

    After trailing the Panthers 12-13 at the end of the first quarter, the Hawks came back in the second quarter to tie the game 29-29 at halftime. The Hawks came out strong in the second half leading 46-39 at the end of the third quarter. The Panthers attempted comeback in the fourth quarter fell short as the Hawks won the game with a final score of 61-57.

  • Lady Hawks lose final season game

    The LCHS girls varsity basketball team finished their regular season with a 76-60 loss to the Marion County Lady Knights last Friday night.

    The Lady Hawks led 18-16 at the end of the first quarter, but the Lady Knights put up 25 points in the second quarter to lead 41-35 at halftime. The Lady Hawks cut the lead to 51-46 at the end of the third quarter. The Lady Hawks hope of a comeback faded away in the fourth quarter as the Lady Knights put up another 25 points to win the game 76-60.

  • 2016 LCHS Homecoming held
  • Mat Hawks finish second in region

    The LaRue County High School Mat Hawks finished in second place at the Region 2 Wrestling Tournament in Bardstown last Saturday.

    The Meade County Green Wave finished first in the tournament with 251.5 points compared to second place LaRue County with 236 points.
