  • Tennis in LaRue
  • Hawks win last three

    The LCHS varsity baseball team continued to win last week to elevating them to an impressive 15-4 record on the season.

    The Hawks beat the John Hardin Bulldogs last Tuesday 5-0 after pitcher Cameron Dawson pitched a no hitter in the game, meaning the Bulldogs were not able to record a single hit during the game. Dawson’s performance included 96 pitches and 58 for strikes with no hits, no runs, eleven strikeouts and three walks.

  • Lady Hawks go 1-3 last week

    The LCHS Lady Hawks varsity softball team went 1-3 last week with their only win coming against Caverna last Thursday.

    The Lady Hawks beat Caverna 13-3 and had control of the game from the start. Pitcher Kellee Cundiff recorded the win only allowing three runs in five innings with six strikeouts, zero walks and seven surrendered hits. Jill Hughes scored on a three run home run in the third inning.

    There is a great deal of research that proves that people who play high school varsity sports tend to get better jobs, with better pay, and that those benefits last a lifetime. For Seniors Noel Sarhan and Ripley Lucas who are doubles partners for the LaRue County tennis team, the benefits of playing tennis far exceed the rewards.

    The LaRue County Track and Cross-country teams will be hosting a 5k Glow Run at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 at LaRue County High School.  For more information contact Coach Jamie Hardin at Jamie.hardin@larue.kyschools.us or call 270-358-2210 during the hours of 11:50 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • Hawks split week 2-2; Lady Hawks...

    The LaRue County Hawks varsity baseball team went 2-2 last week after playing in the Panama City Beach Bash at Panama City Beach, Florida.

    The Hawks started the tournament against Wayne County Cardinals last Monday. The Cardinals beat the Hawks 10-0 as the Hawks couldn’t get anything going offensively.

    “I believe we left the bases loaded twice. They hit the ball really well,” said Hawks Head Coach Eric Allen. “We had a few chances, but we never broke through.”
