  • Hawks golf finish 19th in state

    The LaRue County High School golf team finished 19th in the KHSAA state golf tournament last weekend.

    The Hawks golf team qualified for the state tournament for the first time since 1995. During the first day of the tournament, the Hawks scored a 329 to finish 19th and miss the cut for the second day as only the top 12 teams advanced.

    Cameron Dawson shot a 76, Taylor Eastridge had an 83; Cam Lasley and Chandler McLaughlin both scored an 85 and Hunter McLaughlin shot a 87.

  • Boys soccer wins final game of...

    The LCHS Boys’ soccer team won their final game of the season last Thursday against Fort Knox 3-0.

    Thomas Williams had two goals and Darius Breckinridge had one. Dalton Skaggs picked up two assists in the game. Briar Holt had 13 saves in the game.

    The Hawks finished the season with a 9-8-1 record. Head Coach Jimmy Adams said it was good for the team to win the final game of the season and finish the season with a higher number of wins than loses.

    The LaRue County Lady Hawks varsity volleyball team picked up a 3-2 (25-19, 17-25, 25-21, 24-26, 15-12) win against district foe Green County on Monday, October 3.

  • Girls soccer finish season with...

    The LCHS girls soccer team finished the regular season with a 4-4 tie last Saturday against North Bullitt.

    Gillian Nunn had three goals, Kylee Nunn had one goal and one assist and Whitney Bauer had nine saves.

    The Lady Hawks finished the regular season with a 6-10-2 record. Head Coach Bill Hawkins said North Bullitt is always a big test for the Lady Hawks.

    Legendary Basketball Coach John Wooden was once quoted as saying “the most powerful leadership tool you have is your own personal example.” This quote can certainly apply to Senior Hawks Football player Matt Underwood.

    Underwood has been involved in the Hawks football varsity program his entire high school career and he has started all four of those years. Underwood got involved in football during the second grade.

  • LCMS boys basketball starts...

    The 2016-2017 LaRue County Boy’s Middle School Basketball team started practice this week. The 8th grade Hawks are coached by David Whitlock who is a 2002 LaRue County High School graduate. Coach Whitlock played his High School basketball under Coach Paul Handley his freshman season and Coach Dee Hutchins his sophomore through senior seasons.

    Pickleball is being played at 5:30 p.m., Mondays and Thursdays at the Board of Education gym on College Street. Pickleball is free to anyone interested in learning the sport, a combination of tennis and ping-pong. All equipment provided.

    The LaRue County Flag Division defeated Hardin County by a score of 42-13. The 7/8 year old Division defeated New Haven by a score of 15-12. The 9/10 year old Division defeated New Haven by a score of 34-6. The 11/12 year old Division fell in defeat to New Haven by a score of 26-0.
