  • Hawks fall to Adair County 47-8

    The LaRue County Hawks varsity football team is now 1-2 on the season after losing 47-8 to the Adair County Indians last Friday night.

    The Hawks struggled to get things going on offense as the Indians held them to only 94 total yards on offense with 76 yards passing and 22 yards rushing. However, the Indians had a great night offensively with 358 total yards, including 220 yards on the ground and 138 yards through the air.

    Knowledgeable, educated, and proficient in a wide range of fields, LaRue County High School Junior Jacob Cecil is the modern day Renaissance man.

    Cecil is quietly involved in various activities that make him very intriguing.

    “My interests include playing the guitar, hiking, camping and drawing,” said Cecil. “I like to stay active and keep my body and mind healthy.”

  • Arnette chosen for tourney

    Bryson Arnette, 13, of Hodgenville was recently selected as one of 2,550 players in the country to play baseball in the Disney New Year’s Baseball Classic tournament in Orlando, Florida on December 30, 2015 to January 2, 2016.

    Arnette was selected by scouts and coaches after he participated in GameDay USA All-Star weekend in Cincinnati on August 1 and 2. To qualify, Arnette participated in a home run derby and a skills evaluation that included exit velocity off the bat and pitching velocity.
