  • JV Hawks

    The LCHS JV Hawks opened their season on Thursday, November 30 with a convincing 59-35 win against Caverna.

    The JV Hawks jumped out to a seven point lead at the end of the first quarter and used a 24-5 second quarter to blow the game wide open taking a 40-14 halftime lead.

  • Freshman Hawks are undefeated

    The LCHS freshman Hawks basketball team started their season off with a 2-0 record last week with wins against Campbellsville and Caverna.

    On Monday, the Hawks used their pressing defense to jump out to a 19-11 first quarter lead against Campbellsville. They built that lead up to 16 points before Campbellsville scored the last 6 points of the half. Campbellsville cut the lead to 5 points to start the fourth quarter but the Hawks pulled away over the last six minutes, winning the game with a final score of 50-39.

  • LCMS basketball had busy week

    Last week was a busy week for the LCMS Boys’ basketball Hawks as they entered into their sixth week of play.

    On Monday, November 27, the Hawks hosted the North Middle School Trojans with the 7th grade Hawks tipping off the evening.

    In the first quarter, the Hawks started off fast pouring in fourteen points and holding the Trojans to six points. By halftime, the Trojans cut the Hawks lead down to 22-18 as the Hawks struggled with the Trojans full-court defense.

  • The laid back athlete of LCHS

    Over the last four years at LaRue County High School, fans have witnessed various athletic team and individual athletic success. However, in between all that success, fans have been privy to one of the best pure athletes to walk the halls of LCHS, in senior Shane King.

    Characteristics such as quiet, unique, competitive, smooth, gifted, and special describe King. Very rarely does an athlete come along with the pure talent that King possesses.

    On the football field, Head Coach Josh Jaggers credits King for a good part of their success this season.

  • Brown leaves behind legacy

    The community is mourning the loss of a well known LaRue County Schools educator and athletics coach who passed away last week.

    Robert Michael “Coach” Brown, 65, of Hodgenville passed away on Saturday, November 25. Brown was well known in the community after serving as a LaRue County Schools educator and sports coach for 36 years before retiring in 2013.

  • LCMS basketball takes on Green...

    Because of the holiday break, the LCMS Boy’s Middle School basketball team had only one game on the hardwood last week and it was a home game against Green County Middle on Tuesday, November 21.

    The 7th grade Hawks tipped off the night of action hoping to move their winning streak to six games in a row. In the first quarter of play the Hawks jumped out to a 12-7 lead as both teams struggled to find consistency on both ends of the floor. By the end of the second quarter, the Hawks had built a 24-13 lead heading into halftime.

    Pickleball LaRue County

    Opportunity for fun and exercise by playing Pickleball for beginners at the Board of Education office on College Street in Hodgenville on Sundays at 5 p.m. There are also regular sessions on Monday and Thursday at 5 p.m. All equipment is provided.
