    As the eighth week of the Boy’s Middle School Basketball schedule rolled around, the Hawks were treated to a kind schedule with two homes games last Monday and last Thursday night.

    LaRue Co. 54 vs. Edmonson Co. 29 12/13/16

    The Hawks used their full court press to jump out to a 16-2 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. The Hawks were up 25-10 at the half and then outscored Edmonson County 29-19 in the 2nd half for the final margin. The JV Hawks are 3-1 on the season now. Scoring: Dailliss Cox 15, Noah Davis 11, Warner Bryan 8, Bryson Cobb 6, Jacob Sandidge 4, Phillip French 4, Anthony Adkins 4 and Kendrik Weathers 2.

    Pickleball

    Pickleball is being played at 5:30 p.m., Mondays and Thursdays at the Board of Education gym on College Street. Pickleball is free to anyone interested in learning the sport, a combination of tennis and ping-pong. All equipment provided.

    LaRue County Park and Recreation Board

    The LaRue County Park and Recreation Board meets 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Park. For more information, call Eric DeVary at 270-358-8386.

  • LCMS 6th grade beats St. Joe

    The LaRue County 6th grade Boy’s Travel Hawks hosted St. Joe’s 6th grade Middle School team last Monday, December 12 and came away with an impressive 36 to 19 victory.

    The travel Hawks jumped out to a 19 to 6 half-time lead and cruised to a 17 point victory.

    Luke Trumbo led the Hawks in scoring with 10, Caden Davis had 8, Carson Childress had 6, Tate Wootton and Curtis Ford had 4 each, and Carson DeVary and Landon Colvin had 2 each.

  • Hawks remain undefeated 3-0

    The LaRue County Hawks varsity basketball team remains undefeated on the season after beating Thomas Nelson and Hart County this past week.

    The Hawks dominated the Thomas Nelson Generals last Saturday 81-49.

    The Hawks started the game by applying a full court press and they led the Generals 24-8 at the end of the first quarter and 41-20 at the half. After halftime, the Hawks continued to dominate as they led 59-33 at the end of the third quarter and they put the game away in the fourth quarter with a final score of 81-49.

  • Lady Hawks pick up 68-66 win...

    The LaRue County Lady Hawks varsity basketball team went 1-2 this past week with a close win against Hart County and two losses to John Hardin and Owensboro.

    The Lady Hawks lost to the Owensboro Lady Devils last Saturday 65-35.

    The Lady Hawks kept the game competitive in the first quarter only trailing 19-12, but the Lady Devils put up 30 points in the second quarter to extend their lead to 49-17 at halftime.

    As the seventh week of Boy’s Middle School Basketball rolled around, the Hawks were on the road last Monday, December 5, as they took on North Middle School.

    The 7th grade Hawks began the night with a lot of energy, fight, and determination as they took North Middle School to the wire dropping a close game by the score of 30-28. Kellen Bowen led the Hawks in scoring with 19, Bryce Firquin had 6, and Reed Smith had 3.

    LaRue Co. 24 vs. Green Co. 56 12/8/16

    The Lady Hawks freshman team lost to Green County and trailed in each quarter of the game. The Lady Hawks were led by Bella Thurman with 14, Katelyn Eads got 5, Kelsey Hornback scored 4 and Emma Moore had 1. The Lady Hawks are now 2-2 on the season.

    LaRue Co. 21 vs. John Hardin 14 12/7/16

    The Lady Hawks Freshman came back from a big halftime deficit , to win at John Hardin 21-14. The Lady Hawks only allowed John Hardin 4 points in the second half. Kelsey Hornback led with 14 points and Bella Thurman had 7 points.

    LaRue Co. 67 vs. Thomas Nelson 30 12/10/16

    The Hawks JV team defeated Thomas Nelson by a score of 67-30.   The Hawks used their full court press to jump out to a 28-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.   Thomas Nelson did cut the Hawks lead to 17 at the half but a big third quarter by the Hawks put the game out of reach.   The Hawks were lead in scoring by Noah Davis with 16 points, Anthony Adkins with 13, and Bryson Cobb with 10 points.   The Hawks are now 2-0 on the season.
