    Golf Scramble

    The LaRue County Chamber of Commerce will host their annual golf scramble on April 20, 2017. For more information, please contact the Chamber office at 270-358-3411.

    Rookie baseball camp

    Players Dugout in Elizabethtown on Ring Road is continuing a four week rookie skills camp for ages 6-8 on February 7, February 14 and February 21. An additional camp will be offered each Tuesday from February 28 through March 21.

    For 9-12 year old players, the camp is each Thursday from February 9 through March 2.

  • Hawks lose four straight games

    The LaRue County Hawks varsity basketball team has lost four straight games this past week.

    The Hawks were winless in the Toyota Classic last weekend. They opened the tournament with a 65-46 loss last Thursday, January 19 to Hargrave Military Academy of Virginia.

    The Hawks trailed Hargrave 13-9 in the first quarter and 27-19 at the half. Hargrave came out strong and extended their lead to 52-39 at the end of the third quarter. The Hawks played hard and cut the lead to 9 points in the fourth quarter but Hargrave held on to win by a margin of 19 points.

  • Lady Hawks hit .500 mark

    The LaRue County Lady Hawks varsity basketball team are now 10-10 on the season after winning against Bullitt Central and losing to Breckinridge County this past week.

    The Lady Hawks defeated Bullitt Central 58-36 on Monday, January 16 after getting off to a slow start in the game.

  • Mat Hawks finish fourth place

    The LaRue County Mat Hawks traveled to Franklin County High School last Saturday to compete in the Capital City Classic.

    The Hawks finished in 4th place out of 24 teams. The competition was fierce as they finished behind the number 4, 6, and 8 ranked teams in the state.

    Mat Hawks Head Coach Eric Burrell said the Mat Hawks saw the best competition they had seen all year, as there were several top ranked wrestlers in every weight class. He said the Mat Hawks fared well despite the tough competition.

  • All sixth grade boy’s basketball...

    All three LaRue County 6th grade Boy’s teams were in action this past weekend as they played on the road at different gyms throughout Nelson County. Team #1 faced the East Hardin White team and fell by a score of 37 to 26. Curtis Ford led the scoring with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Cameron Williams had 5 points and 10 rebounds, Tate Wootton had 4 points and 4 rebounds, and Luke Howell, Grayson White, Scott Bryant, and Patrick Butterworth each had 2 rebounds each. Team #1 presently has a 1-3 record on the season.

  • LCMS Mat Hawks advance six to...

    The LaRue County Middle School Mat Hawks finished 4th overall in the KSWA Region 1 tournament last Saturday at John Hardin.

    With only the top four from each individual weight class advancing, the Hawks were able to have six individuals qualify for the state tournament, which will be held February 4 at Broadbent Arena in Louisville.

    LCYSA spring registration

    LaRue County Youth Soccer Association spring registrations will be at the Abraham Lincoln Elementary School cafeteria on January 28 from 10 a.m. to noon.  Spring age groups are U4 Mixed through U19 Mixed teams.  All girls teams may be available for U10, U12 and U14 age groups.    Either a birth certificate or a passport is required.  Please see our facebook page, our website http://laruecountyyouthsoccer.com/, or email us at lcysa.questions@gmail.com with questions.
