  • LCMS 7th grade 1-14, 8th grade...

    As the seventh week of Boy’s Middle School Basketball rolled around, the Hawks were on the road last Monday, December 5, as they took on North Middle School.

    The 7th grade Hawks began the night with a lot of energy, fight, and determination as they took North Middle School to the wire dropping a close game by the score of 30-28. Kellen Bowen led the Hawks in scoring with 19, Bryce Firquin had 6, and Reed Smith had 3.

    LaRue Co. 67 vs. Thomas Nelson 30 12/10/16

    The Hawks JV team defeated Thomas Nelson by a score of 67-30.   The Hawks used their full court press to jump out to a 28-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.   Thomas Nelson did cut the Hawks lead to 17 at the half but a big third quarter by the Hawks put the game out of reach.   The Hawks were lead in scoring by Noah Davis with 16 points, Anthony Adkins with 13, and Bryson Cobb with 10 points.   The Hawks are now 2-0 on the season.

    LaRue Co. 24 vs. Green Co. 56 12/8/16

    The Lady Hawks freshman team lost to Green County and trailed in each quarter of the game. The Lady Hawks were led by Bella Thurman with 14, Katelyn Eads got 5, Kelsey Hornback scored 4 and Emma Moore had 1. The Lady Hawks are now 2-2 on the season.

    LaRue Co. 21 vs. John Hardin 14 12/7/16

    The Lady Hawks Freshman came back from a big halftime deficit , to win at John Hardin 21-14. The Lady Hawks only allowed John Hardin 4 points in the second half. Kelsey Hornback led with 14 points and Bella Thurman had 7 points.

    Pickleball

    Pickleball is being played at 5:30 p.m., Mondays and Thursdays at the Board of Education gym on College Street. Pickleball is free to anyone interested in learning the sport, a combination of tennis and ping-pong. All equipment provided.

    Hawks 46 vs Etown 32 11/28/16

    The Hawks freshman basketball team opened its season with a 46-32 win over Elizabethtown.   The Hawks jumped out to a 6 point lead at halftime and use a big third quarter to pull away from the Panthers.   The Hawks hit 9 of their 10 free throws in the fourth quarter to seal the game.   The Hawks were led in scoring by Warner Bryan with 19 points and Chance Bowen with 11 points.

  • JV basketball results - December...

    LCHS Hawks 60 vs. Caverna 35 12/1/16

    LCHS Hawks JV team opened the season at Caverna with a 60-35 victory.   The Hawks used a smothering press in the first quarter to jump out to a 22-2 lead.   The Hawks then outscored Caverna 38-33 over the next three quarters for the final margin of victory.  

    The Hawks were led in scoring by Bryson Cobb with 13, Anthony Adkins and Dailliss Cox each had 10.

    Their next game is this Saturday at home against Thomas Nelson at 6 p.m.

    As week six of the Boy’s Middle School Basketball season kicked in, the Boy’s Middle School Hawks hosted Scott Middle School from Fort Knox last Monday, November 28.

    We have often heard that the road to success is always under construction. The construction process for the LCHS cheer squad has been a challenging one to say the least over the last six months as their season comes to a conclusion at the KHSAA State Competitive Cheer event this Saturday, December 10.

  • Mat Hawks have good showing in...

    The LaRue County High School Mat Hawks had two good showings in the Oldham County Super Duals last Saturday and the Woodford County Tri-Dual last Wednesday.

    The Mat Hawks finished first in the Woodford County Tri-Dual last Wednesday. The results were LaRue County 48 vs. Woodford County 36 and LaRue County 60 vs. Taylor County 24. Individual results were not available at press time.

    Burrell said that the Woodford County Tri-Duals was the toughest match they have had all season.
