  • Glow Run rescheduled

    The annual LaRue County Track and Cross-Country 5K Glow Run/Walk has been rescheduled to 8:45 p.m. on Friday, June 2 at the LaRue County High School cross country course.

    The race was originally scheduled for April 22, but it was rescheduled due to inclement weather.

    The race will start and end at the high school. LaRue County student fees are $20 each and out of county students or adult fees are $50 each.

    The News Enterprise held their sixth annual Select Preps Banquet on Friday, May 12 honoring student-athletes from around the area including seven local schools.

    LaRue County, John Hardin, North Hardin, Central Hardin, Elizabethtown, Fort Knox and North Hardin Christian were the schools being recognized for student-athletes outstanding athletic performance, along with academic success, student involvement and volunteer work.

  • Lady Hawks turn things around

    After starting this week off with a tough shutout loss, the Lady Hawks varsity softball team ended the week with two big wins of their own.

    The Lady Hawks started this past week off on a bad note as they were scoreless in the game against the Central Hardin Lady Bruins on Monday, May 8. They lost by a score of 15-0 in four innings.

    The Lady Hawks didn’t have any hits or runs in the game. Pitcher Sara Jo Calhoun took the loss in the game as she gave up 14 hits, 15 runs and had two strikeouts.

  • Hawks shutout Campbellsville

    The Hawks varsity baseball team shutout the Campbellsville Eagles 10-0 on Tuesday, May 9.

    Both teams were scoreless until the third inning when the Hawks put up three runs. The Hawks also had three runs in the fourth before finishing the game in the fifth with four runs.

    Dane Milby led the team with three RBIs and the Hawks had 12 total hits. Pitcher Cameron Dawson earned the win as he didn’t allow any runs, only one hit and one strikeout.

  • LaRue County track region...

    The Region 2, Class 2A track meet was held on Tuesday, May 9 at Bardstown High School and LaRue County was well represented.

    Twelve girls and boys teams made up the region. John Hardin girl’s team walked away with the region championship, while the host school Bardstown captured the boy’s championship.

  • JV/Freshman Hawks pick up wins

    The JV and freshman Hawks added to their win columns this past week.

    On Tuesday, May 9, the Hawks JV team picked up another win as they traveled to Campbellsville to take on the Eagles.

    Gavin Nall started for the Hawks on the mound pitching one inning, striking out one batter, and giving up one run. Bryson Arnette picked up the win for the Hawks pitching four innings while holding the Eagles scoreless.
