  • Hawks lose first game of season

    The LaRue County football Hawks suffered a disappointing 35-13 loss to the Elizabethtown Panthers on Friday, October 13.

    It was the fifth straight time that the Panthers beat the Hawks and the Panthers also secured their third straight class 3A, district 2 championship.

    It was the tale of two halves as the Hawks stayed in the game and actually had the momentum on their side for a short period of time.

  • Lady Hawks win district

    The Lady Hawks varsity soccer team won the 18th district championship on Thursday, October 12 when they shutout the Taylor County lady Cardinals 5-0.

    It was the Lady Hawks first district championship since 2013. The win was also sweet as the Lady Hawks were district runner-up in 2014 and 2015, losing both times to the Lady Cardinals who claimed the district championship in those seasons.

  • Hawks soccer lose first game in...

    The LaRue County Hawks soccer team had their season end on Wednesday, October 11 after losing to Marion County 6-0 in the opening round of the 18th district tournament.

    There were no goals or assists by the Hawks in the game. The loss gave the Hawks a final record of 3-5 on the season and 1-4 in the district.

    Head Coach Bill Hawkins said they would have loved to have a different outcome, but Marion County always gives them a good game and came out on top.

  • LCMS Lady Hawks play St. James

    As the season winds down, the LCMS Lady Hawks played one game last week, hosting the St. James Lady Knights from Elizabethtown on Thursday, October 12 at the LCMS gymnasium. The 7th grade Lady Hawks began the night of basketball with a promising start as they took a 6-5 lead after one quarter of play. In the second quarter, the offense went cold for the Lady Hawks as the Lady Knights took a 16-9 lead into halftime.

  • Hawks golf have strong state...

    The LaRue County High School golf team finished 19th out of 24 teams in the KHSAA state golf tournament on Monday, October 2.

    The Hawks shot a team score of 332 on the first day. Only the top 12 teams qualified for the second day and the Hawks missed the cut by 12 strokes. The Hawks were in good shape after the first eight holes, but they had two bogeys and two double bogeys on the ninth hole that set them back.

    A showdown is in store for two class 3A, district 2 teams this Friday as the LaRue County Hawks football team will take on the Elizabethtown Panthers.

    The game will be played at the Panthers home stadium in Elizabethtown with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. The Hawks are going into the game with a undefeated record of 7-0, while the Panthers hold a record of 6-1.
