    Pickleball LaRue County

    A pickleball for beginners class is being held at the Board of Education office on College Street in Hodgenville at 5 p.m. on Sundays. Regular sessions are held on Monday and Thursday at 5 p.m. All equipment is provided.

    Pickleball activities and opportunities in Bardstown are from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday at the COBEC building on East Muir and First Streets. Enter through the rear of the building and follow signs to the gym.

  • Brown returns to action

    The Lady Hawks varsity basketball team lost three straight games this past week to Grant County, North Hardin and Central Hardin in the LaRue County Lady Hawks Holiday Classic.

    The bright spot for the Lady Hawks was the return of senior Presley Brown who hadn’t played all season due to sickness.

    The Lady Hawks started their tournament off with a 40-29 loss to the Grant County Lady Braves on Thursday, December 21.

  • Mat Hawks win Tsunami duals

    LaRue County junior Noah Davis thinks this can be the start of something very good for the Hawks wrestling team.

    Number 15 LaRue County went 10-0 in the two-day Tsunami Duals at Meade County, winning the title for the second straight season.

    “I think this is just the start,” said the 145-pound Davis, who won all 10 of his matches Wednesday and Thursday. “We took an early loss to McCracken County that we shouldn’t have, but this is just the start. We’re just gonna keep on rolling.”

  • Hawks win tourney

    The Hawks varsity basketball team beat St. Henry and Harrison County to win the Huck Turner Tip-off Classic this past weekend.

    The tournament started with a 62-51 win against the St. Henry Crusaders on Friday, December 22.

    The Hawks got off to a slow start only leading 14-13 at the end of the first quarter, but the Hawks picked up the pace in the second quarter outscoring the Crusaders 17-9 to take a 31-21 lead at halftime.

  • Hawks freshman results

    The Hawks finished their December schedule on December 18 with a 48-31 victory over North Bullitt. The Hawks jumped out to a 20-10 halftime lead by Daniel Snodgrass’ 9 first half points. The Hawks continued to play well in the second half outscoring North Bullitt 28-21 in the second half for final margin of victory. The Hawks are currently 5-2 on the season.

    Scoring: Daniel Snodgrass 11, Kaleb Graham 8, Evan Morris 7, Connor Baker 6, Preston Self 5, Sebastian Perkins 4 and Brooks Brackett with 4 each and Marvin Wright 3. 

  • Lady Hawks win two straight

    The LCHS Lady Hawks varsity basketball team desperately needed a win and they picked up two of them this past week.

    In a nailbiter game won on a last second shot, theHawks defeated the Caverna Lady Colonels 67-66 on Friday, December 15.

    The score was close throughout the game as the Lady Hawks led 24-23 in the first quarter and extended their lead to 33-29 at the half.

  • Hawks remain perfect

    The LCHS Hawks varsity basketball team remains undefeated on the season with two solid wins against the Edmonson County Wildcats and the Caverna Colonels this past week.

    The Hawks beat the Wildcats 68-41 on Tuesday, December 12.

    The Hawks got off to a slow start in the game, but got a spark from Kendrik Weathers who came off the bench and hit back to back three pointers. The spark helped the Hawks pick up the pace as they jumped out to a 20-8 lead at the end of the first quarter.

  • Mat Hawks continue to shine

    The LCHS Mat Hawks wrestling team is continuing to dominate their competition as they beat Louisville Central and placed fifth out of 24 teams in a tournament.

    The Mat Hawks beat Louisville Central 56-20 on Wednesday, December 13.

  • LCMS Boys’ Basketball play three...

    The LCMS Boy’s Middle School basketball Hawks hit the road with three away games this past week starting on Monday, December 18 at East Hardin Middle School.
