Her win gave two points to the Lady Hawks, allowing them to finish 35th. The Lady Hawks were Region 2 runners-up.

Zajdel competed also in the long jump, placing 20th.

  • Clemons named to All-Tournament...

The LaRue County Hawks varsity baseball season came to an abrupt end in the first round of the 5th Region Tournament against Washington County 5-3.

The Hawks defeated the Commanders in the regular season 14-2 in five innings.

“It was a tough way to end a good year. It’s tough playing a team you run-ruled earlier in the year. We became complacent after the early lead. The mental edge just wasn’t there. We hit entirely too many pop-ups and fly balls,” said Coach Chris Price.

  • Lady Hawks knocked out of 18th...

For the first time since 1997, the 5th Region Tournament was played without the LaRue County Lady Hawks in its field.

A very determined Lady Raider team from Hart County stood in the Lady Hawks’ way of making the tournament for the 13th straight year, as the Lady Hawks fell 9-4 in the first round of the 18th District Tournament in Greensburg May 24.

Errors early and often seemed to be the story for the Lady Hawks. To add to the defensive problems, the offensive power left the bats as well, as the Lady Hawks could not get the timely hits they needed.
