  • Lady Hawks show a burn to succeed

Many coaches dream for their players to have a burning desire for the game they play. As a player, I had that burn from grade school all the way through my years at the University of Louisville. My life was softball, my desire was to beat the best, so I can be the best. Secretly, I wondered, did anyone else have that burn like me?

  • LaRue's track team a blend...

LaRue County High School’s track team enters the 2010 season having several experienced seniors on the boys’ squad while lacking experience among girl tracksters.

“On the girls’ side, inexperience will be our greatest weakness. Most of our varsity athletes are very young, with several middle schoolers competing,” said Jeremy Blair, who coaches both boys and girls. “The good thing is that our girls aren’t afraid of anything. They compete hard, which is our greatest strength.”

  • Hawks begin baseball season...

Just as sure as the days get longer and the weather starts to warm, you know it won’t be long until baseball season. Head coach Chris Price and assistant coach Eric Hughes have been working several weeks with a young and inexperienced LaRue County High School baseball team. The Hawks lost 14 players since last year due to various reasons including nine graduating seniors.

Price, a 1990 graduate of LCHS, is in his 15th year as a teacher and coach (the last six as head coach) and is looking forward to the new season.
