  • Marcum revisits gig as...

Daniel Marcum, a 1991 LaRue County High School graduate, revealed a secret this winter to his mother, Janet Marcum, that he had kept from the time he was a student at Campbellsville University.

“I had no idea during those years he attended school there (1993-96) that he was the Tigers' mascot,” said Janet, who lives in Buffalo.

“Some schools don’t mind revealing who the mascot is while others, like Campbellsville, like to keep it a secret,” said Daniel, who has served as youth minister at Columbia Baptist Church since 1998.

  • Clemons named to All-Tournament...

The LaRue County Hawks varsity baseball season came to an abrupt end in the first round of the 5th Region Tournament against Washington County 5-3.

The Hawks defeated the Commanders in the regular season 14-2 in five innings.

“It was a tough way to end a good year. It’s tough playing a team you run-ruled earlier in the year. We became complacent after the early lead. The mental edge just wasn’t there. We hit entirely too many pop-ups and fly balls,” said Coach Chris Price.
