  • Campbellsville University to...

    Beginning in the fall of 2012, women’s wrestling will become the 25th varsity sports program administered by the Campbellsville University Department of Athletics, CU Director of Athletics Rusty Hollingsworth said.
    Women’s wrestling will be the sixth athletic program started or reinstated in the past four seasons at CU and the 10th in Hollingsworth’s 11 years at athletics director.

  • Caven named Coach of the Year

    Campbellsville University tennis head coach Kyle Caven has been named Coach of the Year by the United States Tennis Association of Kentucky. According to USTAKY, the award is presented annually to “an individual who has excelled in guiding and managing a scholastic tennis team.”
    “I’m really excited and happy to get this award and what it can mean for Campbellsville,” said Caven, a 2002 graduate of LaRue County High School.

    Cody Thompson’s stellar performance in a 57-44 romp over Elizabethtown October 14 etched his name in LaRue County High School’s football record book.
    The senior halfback rushed for 361 yards in 25 carries, eclipsing a previous single-game record 312 yards in 25 carries set by Danny Embree in 1979.

  • Sandidge, Durbin named to All...

    LaRue County High School cross country runners Adam Sandidge and Kristina Durbin, both freshmen, were named to the Mid-Kentucky Conference All Conference team following their performance in last week’s conference run.
    Teams competing in the 5K were LaRue, Bardstown, Bethlehem, Bullitt Central, Nelson and Spencer.
    Sandidge placed third with 18:01.31 in the event hosted at Nelson County High School. He took fourth in Saturday’s Wildcat Wilderness Invitational held at Franklin-Simpson High School.
