  • Baseball: Hawks on a roll with...

    The LaRue County Baseball Team improved their record to 10-4 with an 8-4 victory over the North Hardin Trojans Monday, April 18. The Trojans record fell to 7-7 with the loss. Ace Adcock, the brother of Kansas City Royals Nathan Adcock, is the Trojans’ Head Coach.
    Sophomore Cole Hughes got off to an extremely shaky start, giving up three runs on four hits sandwiched around an error in the first inning. After the first inning though, Hughes settled down, giving up only one run and three hits through six innings.

  • ALES wrestlers capture trophy

    For the second consecutive year the Abraham Lincoln Elementary School wrestling team secured the elementary division trophy in the local wrestling tournament held at Hodgenville Elementary School. Several members have distinguished themselves by qualifying for middle school level events as well. Pictured are Dalton Bell, J.T. Holcomb, Dylan Derosha, Brady Sheldon, Tristin Brown, Clay Perry, Tharon Blair, Parker Anderson, Braden Sferro, Carter Sheldon, Preston Carter, Dylan Dicus, Caleb Hack and Gabe Fortier.

    The LaRue County High School track teams each finished third out of a field of five at the LaRue County All-Comers Meet April 12.
    Shana Zajdel took top honor in the girls’ triple jump and fifth in the 100-meter dash; Alisha Durbin won the 300-meter hurdles while Amarah Reed was first in the 1600-meter run and eighth in the 300-meter hurdles.
    Cody Thompson won the 300-meter hurdles.

  • Campbellsville University wins...

    Campbellsville University men's tennis blew past University of Virginia's College at Wise on Saturday, 6-0, to finish the Mid-South Conference season with a 3-1 record and share of their first MSC title.

    The Tigers won all three doubles matches including Zac Malyon and Terry Caven’s 8-0 win.

    Caven, a junior at CU, is a former standout LaRue County High School tennis player.

    The LaRue County High School track teams each finished third out of a field of five at the LaRue County All-Comers Meet April 12.

  • Tennis: Terry Caven wins four

    Former LaRue County High School standout Terry Caven, a Campbellsville University junior, won four (three doubles, one singles) consecutive matches in the Tigers’ 6-3 win over Brescia, 7-2 victory against Indiana University-Southeast and 9-0 win over IU-East. Campbellsville is coached by Caven’s older brother Kyle.
    In the Brescia match, former Central Hardin standout Jacob Blevins, a junior, lost in No. 5 singles to Campbellsville’s Zac Malyon, Caven’s doubles partner. Blevins earned an easy 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 3 singles action against IU-East.

  • Padgett tops for Tigers

    The Campbellsville University Tigers defeated Eastern Kentucky University April 10 for the team’s first outdoor track and field win in program history.
    Campbellsville finished nine points ahead of NCAA Division I program EKU, 100.5 to 91.5.
    The Tigers beat Georgetown College for first-place in the 4x800 meter relay with distance runners Christian Black, Kody Hutchins, David McKellar and Truman Padgett, a former LaRue County High School athlete.
    Padgett also took seventh in the 400-meter dash (52.32).  

  • Softball: Lady Hawks defeat...

    The LaRue County High School Lady Hawks capped off the Florida Beach Bash at Fort Walton Beach April 8 with a 13-3 victory over Louisville Fairdale.
    “Spring break in Florida was a great team building getaway for the softball program,” said Lady Hawk Head Coach Aaron Howell. “I thought our team improved in all areas of the game, particularly pitching and defense. The three losses we had were a combined six runs – two of which we were winning going into the last inning. The competition we played in Florida will only help us during a season.”
