  • Lady Hawks lose two straight...

    The LCHS Lady Hawks varsity basketball team lost to Adair County and Green County this past week.

    The Lady Hawks lost to the Green County Lady Dragons last Friday night 56-28.

    The Lady Dragons doubled the score in the first quarter with a 22-9 lead and they led 35-13 at the half. The bleeding didn’t stop for the Lady Hawks in the second half as they trailed 54-17 at the end of the third quarter. The Lady Dragons put the game away in the fourth quarter with a score of 56-28.

  • Hawk above .500 mark

    The LCHS Hawks varsity basketball team are now 8-6 on the season after picking up two wins on the road last week.

    The Hawks beat the Thomas Nelson Generals 76-64 last Saturday.

    The game was close at the start as the Hawks led 21-19 at the end of the first quarter and they extended their lead to 46-32 at the end of the half. The Hawks pulled away from the Generals in the second half as they led 58-41 at the end of the third quarter and finished the game with a final score of 76-64.

  • LCMS Mat Hawks finished first in...

    The LaRue County Middle School Mat Hawks came in first place last weekend by going 6-0 in the 2016 LaRue County Middle School Wrestling Duals. 10 teams battled for the title in the pool formatted tournament.

  • Defender of the Mat Champs

    The LaRue County High School wrestling team placed first at Lexington Bryan Station the Defender of the Mat Wrestling tournament last Saturday.

    Head Coach Eric Burrell said it was a really great match for the team.

    “We won our first individual team of the year and were able to get back some of those guys who have been sitting a few weeks due to injury,” Burrell said. “But we had several guys come out due to some damage.”

  • Hooper hired as LCHS track head...

    LaRue County Athletics Director David Dawson recently announced the hiring of Jobie Hooper as the LCHS head boys track coach.

    Hooper is a 1984 graduate of Del City High School in Del City, Oklahoma where he played football, wrestling, baseball and track. He played football and track at Bethany College in Linsborg, Kansas from 1984-1989.

  • Lady Hawks win final game of...

    The LCHS Lady Hawks varsity basketball team ended a two game losing streak in the South Central Bank Halton Classic with a 58-40 win against the Caverna Lady Colonels last Wednesday.

    The Lady Hawks came out firing on all cylinders with as they led 12-4 at the end of the first quarter and 22-16 at halftime. The Lady Hawks kept the pedal to the floor in the second half as they led 33-27 at the end of the third quarter and they put the game away in the fourth quarter with a final score of 58-40.

    The LCHS Hawks varsity basketball team lost to the North Bullitt Eagles 65-56 in the LaRue County Holiday Classic championship game last Wednesday.

    Boys JV

    The LCHS Hawks JV team had no games this past week. They are 1-2 on the season. Their next game is away at 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 9 at Thomas Nelson. .

    The LCHS freshman Hawks had no games this past week and they are 2-1 on the season. Their next game is at home on Monday, January 14 at 7 p.m. against Hart County.
