  • LCMS Boys basketball starts...

    The LCMS Boys’ Basketball seasons kicks off this week with much excitement and anticipation for both the 8th and 7th grade boys’ basketball teams.

    The 8th grade team has a new head coach, Kody Key-Close and a new assistant coach, Jesse Benningfield. The coaches said they are expecting a much improved team and a much improved record from last year.

  • LCMS Girls’ basketball begin...

    The LCMS 7th grade Lady Basketball Hawks traveled to Stuart Pepper Middle School in Meade County on Wednesday, October 18 to take on the Lady Waves in the first round of post-season play.

    In the first quarter, the Lady Hawks kept it close with great defense as they trailed the Lady Waves by a score of 3-5. In the second quarter of play, both offenses got on track after a slow start but the Lady Hawks still trailed the Lady Waves by a close score of 10-13.

  • Hawks secure home playoff game

    For the first time in five years, the Hawks will play their first state playoff game after they picked up a 32-7 win on Senior Night against the Edmonson County Wildcats on Friday, October 20.

    The Hawks dominated in the first half as they went into the locker room at halftime with a 19-0 lead with the Hawks scoring on a three yard touchdown run by quarterback Dane Milby, a 17 yard touchdown pass from Dane Milby to Anthony Adkins and a 26 yard pass from Dane Milby to Shane King.

    LaRue County boys little league basketball signups will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 26 at the LaRue County High School cafeteria.   • Lady Hawks volleyball win...

    The LCHS Hawks varsity volleyball team won their first ever district championship in school history.

    The Lady Hawks defeated the Green County Lady Dragons 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-20) in the 18th district championship game at Green County on Tuesday, October 17. Senior Presley Brown had 22 kills and senior Jessi O’Bryan had 29 assists. Senior Breea Kirkpatrick had seven digs, Bailey Rogers made three aces and Sophomore Bella Venegas had four kills, five digs and two assists.

    Wendy’s High School Heisman recently recognized Presley Brown from LaRue County High School for her dedication to never cutting corners by naming her a School Winner.

  • LCMS Lady Hawks play St. James

    As the season winds down, the LCMS Lady Hawks played one game last week, hosting the St. James Lady Knights from Elizabethtown on Thursday, October 12 at the LCMS gymnasium. The 7th grade Lady Hawks began the night of basketball with a promising start as they took a 6-5 lead after one quarter of play. In the second quarter, the offense went cold for the Lady Hawks as the Lady Knights took a 16-9 lead into halftime.
