  • Lady Hawks lose four straight

    The LCHS varsity softball team has lost their last four games and they are now 4-4 on the season.

    After the 10-5 win against Thomas Nelson last Monday, the Lady Hawks lost a tough 1-0 game to Adair County Lady Indians last Tuesday. The visiting Lady Hawks were held to just two singles as their four-game winning streak was snapped by the Lady Indians.

  • Boley named Miss KY Basketball

    When the 2016 Miss Basketball award was announced on March 15, 2016, there was a wide range of emotions for Erin Boley and those closest to her.

    Boley was named Miss Basketball during the ceremony at the Lexington Center. The award, voted on by coaches and media members, is given to the top senior each year. Boley, of Hodgenville, is a senior at Elizabethtown High School.

  • Fundraising goal exceeded for...

    The family of former LaRue County High School Wrestler, Daniel Parker, have exceeded their goal of raising $7,000 to purchase a much needed wrestling mat for the LaRue County High School Mat Hawks Wrestling team in his honor.

    Parker, a 2004 LaRue County High School Graduate and dedicated wrestler, was killed in a car accident in November of 2008.

    Parker’s family wanted to honor his 30th birthday by creating a Go Fund Me account to raise funds for the LaRue County wrestling team and purchasing a new wrestling mat in his memory.

    5K Glow Run

    The LaRue County Track and Cross-country teams will be hosting a 5k Glow Run at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 at LaRue County High School.  For more information contact Coach Jamie Hardin at Jamie.hardin@larue.kyschools.us or call 270-358-2210 during the hours of 11:50 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    I have always considered myself fortunate to have grown up witnessing the greatest basketball player of all-time. Michael Jordan tried out for the varsity basketball team as a sophomore, but was cut because he was deemed too short to play at that level. We all know what happened after that.

  • Spring sports begin in LaRue

    LaRue County High School athletes began their spring sports season last week.

    The LCHS Hawks varsity baseball team beat Grayson County 10-0 after playing seven innings during their first scrimmage of the season last Wednesday. Head Coach Eric Allen said it was a great warm-up game for their season.
