  • LCMS football loses to T.K. Stone

    The LCMS Football team suffered their second loss of the season at the hands of T.K.Stone on Tuesday, September 12 in Elizabethtown in a rain-soaked affair.

    At half-time, the Hawks were down by 14-0, but three turnovers and tackling issues led to a 30-0 defeat at the hands of T.K.Stone. The Hawks are 2-2 on the season and they prepare to host Stuart Pepper Middle School from Meade County on Wednesday, September 20. Kick-off is set for 5:30 p.m.

  • LCHS volleyball 3-0 in district

    The LCHS Lady Hawks varsity volleyball team are 3-0 in the district after picking up a 3-0 win against Hart County on Thursday, September 14.

    Presley Brown had 12 kills, seven digs and two blocks; Jessi O’Bryan got 24 assists and three aces; Breea Kirkpatrick added 23 digs and four aces and Katelynn Lafollette had five kills and a dig.

    The Middle School Lady Hawks opened up the fourth week of their Middle School schedule hosting the Lady Trojans from North Middle on Tuesday, September 12.

    The 7th grade Lady Hawks tipped off the double-header with some positive momentum from their big win against West Hardin the previous week and that momentum continued to show against the Lady Trojans.

    The West Hardin Lakers traveled to LaRue County on Tuesday, September 5 to take on the LCMS Lady Hawks.

  • LCMS football beat East Hardin

    The LCMS Hawks football team defeated the visiting East Hardin Rebels by a score of 8-6 on Wednesday, September 6 at the LCHS football field.

    The Hawks jumped on the scoreboard first in the first quarter as Cutter Boley found Dylan Thompson for a seven yard touchdown pass topped off with a two point conversion run play by Kellen Bowen. With three minutes left to play in the fourth quarter, the visiting Rebels found the end-zone to cut the lead to 8-6, but Landon Bentley stopped the two point conversion securing the 8-6 victory for the Hawks.

    The Hawks are now 4-4 on the season. They played Glasgow on Tuesday and the results of that game will be featured in the September 20 edition of The LaRue County Herald News. Their next game is at home this Wednesday against Taylor County at 7:45 p.m.

    ARK Golf scramble

    The Animal Rescue Kare (ARK) of Hart County is holding a golf scramble fundraiser at Shady Hollow Golf Course in Cub Run at 7:30 a.m. on September 23. Prizes include $500, $300, and $150. The cost is $40 per person. Four-person teams may pre-register online at the ARK website www.ark4hart.org. All proceeds go to the ARK spay-neuter-rabies program.     Goals: Olivia Hazelwod 2, Elena Espinosa 1 and Kylee Nunn 1.  Assists: Allison Bauer and Elena Espinosa had one each.  Goalie Whitney Bauer with six shutouts on the season.

    LaRue Co. 3 vs. Barren County 1 9/6/17

    Goals: Elena Espinosa, Kylee Nunn and Natalie Wolf had one each.

    The Lady Hawks are now 8-1 on the season. Their next game is at home this Wednesday against Taylor County at 6 p.m.
