    The 10U All-Star Hawks competed in the West Kentucky State Tournament last week in Elizabethtown and their first opponent on Wednesday, July 12 was the Henderson County All-Stars.

  • Understanding the Grind

    Many of us refer to consistent, hard work as “the grind.” I ran across a great quote that says, “you can’t cheat the grind, it knows how much you have invested. It won’t give you anything you haven’t worked for.” Kane Harris, a senior football player for the Hawks fully understands what that ‘grind’ means, and is devoted to leading LaRue County Hawks Football to a successful season.

    Harris has been playing football since he was ten years old.

    The 12U All-Star Hawks competed last week in the West Kentucky State Tournament held at the Elizabethtown Area Youth Baseball Park.

    On Wednesday, July 5, the Hawks fell short by losing their first pool play game to the Ohio County All-Stars by a score of 6-3.

  • Hawks 8U district tourney results

    The 8U LaRue County All-Stars hosted the Cal Ripken 8U District Tournament last week as Meade County, LaRue County, and two teams from Elizabethtown competed for the District crown.

    On Tuesday, June 25, the 8U Hawks fell in the first round of pool play to the E’town A team by a score of 7-2. Offensively Kobe Cahoe, Cooper Wootton, and Gavin Gardner led the Hawks with two hits each.

  • Brewer transfers to WKU

    Former LaRue County star Alexis Brewer will join up with an old Lady Hawks teammate when she transfers to Western Kentucky for the upcoming season.

    Brewer, who spent her first three seasons with LaRue County before transferring to Bardstown, began her college career at West Virginia.

    Her dad, Bardstown boys’ basketball coach James Brewer, said Alexis didn’t decide to transfer until after the semester ended and she got back home April 27.

  • LCYSA hosts TetraBrazil soccer...

    For the second summer in a row, the LaRue County Youth Soccer Association (LCYSA) hosted a TetraBrazil Academy summer camp.

    From June 26 – 30, campers participated in a three-hour session in either the morning or evening.  In addition to improving their soccer skills, campers also learned about Brazil and some different soccer clubs in that country.
