  • LCHS Homecoming Friday LaRue vs...

    The LCHS Hawks varsity basketball team led at halftime, but ended up losing to the Green County Dragons 60-45 last Friday.

    Dragoon senior guard Dominique Compton, who is the leading scorer in the state, scored 29 of his 42 points in the second half.

  • Lady Hawks lose two hard fought...

    The LCHS girls varsity basketball team lost two hard fought games this past week to the Breckinridge County Lady Tigers (75-62) and the Green County Lady Dragoons (69-45.)

  • LCHS freshman boys basketball...

    The Freshman Boy’s Basketball Team played five games last week. They opened the week last Tuesday playing against Green County at home and the Hawks lost to them by a score of 53-37.   Green County jumped out 20-8 lead in the first quarter.   The Hawks played much better the last three quarters, but could not overcome the first quarter deficit.

    Boys JV

    The LCHS Hawks JV are now 5-4 on the season after beating Green County and losing to Adair County last week. Their next game is away at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16 against Elizabethtown.

    Boys JV

    The LCHS Hawks JV team had no games this past week and they are now 4-3 on the season. Their next game is at home on Thursday, February 9 at 6 p.m. against Nelson County.

    The LCHS freshman Hawks lost to John Hardin last Thursday 57-44 and they are 3-3 on the season. Their next game is away on Thursday, February 4 at 6 p.m. against Marion County.

  • LCMS volleyball begins season
  • LCHS cheerleading squad to...

    The LaRue County High School Cheerleaders will be leaving Wednesday, February 3 for Orlando, Florida where they will compete in the National High School Cheerleading Championship.

    The LCHS cheerleaders are one of 114 squads to make it to the competition, out of approximately 18,400 high schools in the country. 

    Head Coach Danielle Vandermolen said that the LCHS cheerleaders will go head to head with 19 of the best cheerleading teams in the nation this Saturday, February 6.

  • Fund set up to honor Daniel...

    A former LaRue County Wrestler standout is being remembered by his family to raise funds to help the Mat Hawks with much needed equipment.

    Daniel Parker, a 2004 LaRue County High School graduate, wrestled for the LaRue County Hawks for 6 years. In November of 2008, Parker died in a car accident. His family has decided to honor his upcoming 30th birthday by creating a Go Fund Me account to raise funds for the current LaRue County wrestling team.

    Lincoln’s Birthday 5K

    The Lincoln’s Birthday 5K run will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 5 at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School. Preregistration is $20 for adults and $10 for children who are school age or younger. On-site registration is $25 for adults and $15 for children.   • Hawks beat Thomas Nelson

    The LCHS boys varsity basketball team beat the Thomas Nelson Generals 62-47 last Saturday in the Nathan McCurry Classic tournament.

    With the game against Glasgow last Tuesday being canceled because of inclement weather, the game against Thomas Nelson was the Hawks first game since beating Bullitt Central 63-38 on January 19.
