    Many of us struggle with change from time to time, whether it be a new job, a new school, or even a new boss; there is always that apprehensiveness that attaches itself to the specific change. As the LaRue County Football team has undergone a leadership change in the hiring of Tony Hatmaker, one Hawk senior in particular has completely bought in to what the head coach is providing. Hunter Griffin will be one of the Hawks six seniors expected to lead the way this season as the Hawks prepare for their season to begin next week.

    A volleyball skills clinic for girls in grades K-6 will take place at the LCHS gymnasium from 9 a.m. to noon on August 29 and 9 a.m. to noon on September 12. Cost is $45 per player or $80 for two players. For more information call 270-358-2210

    Pickleball is being played at 5:30 p.m., Mondays and Thursdays at the Board of Education gym on College Street. Pickleball is free to anyone interested in learning the sport, a combination of tennis and ping-pong. All equipment provided.

    Nathan McCurry Memorial Bowl Bash

    The Third Annual Nathan McCurry Memorial Bowl Bash is at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 15 at the LCHS football field. T-shirts will be on sale for $15. $2 from the sale of each shirt will be donated to Nathan McCurry’s daughter’s scholarship fund, the Scout Scholarship Fund.
