  • Hawks volleyball win first round...

    The Lady Hawks volleyball team won their first round match in the 18th district tournament against Caverna on Monday.

    The Lady Hawks beat Caverna 3-0 (25-11, 25-7, 25-12). Stats for the game were Rachel Armes - 5 aces and 3 kills; Jessi O’Bryan - 1 ace and 2 digs; Bella Venegas - 1 ace, and1 kill; Sophie Akin - 4 aces and 1 kill; Emma Bowling - 3 digs; Kaitlyn Warnshuis - 4 aces and 3 kills; Cidney Neagle - 1 kill and 20 assists; Presley Brown - 13 kills and Breea Kirkpatrick - 7 digs.

  • LCMS Eighth grade night held

    Last Tuesday night, seven eighth graders played their final home middle school game as LaRue County hosted visiting T.K. Stone. Eighth graders Bella Thurman, Kelsey Hornback, Katelyn Eads, Jada Hunter-Hayes, A J English, Emmalee Moore, and Haley Ferguson played and participated in their final home game in front of a packed house as friends and family cheered them on.

  • LCHS girls’ soccer loses...

    The Lady Hawks varsity girls soccer team lost a heartbreaking 3-4 game to Hart County in the opening round of the 18th district tournament last Wednesday.

    Natalie Wolfe led the Lady Hawks with two goals and Kylee Nunn had one goal. Gillian Nunn had one assist and Whitney Bauer had four saves.

    The Lady Hawks finished the season with a 6-11-2 record. Head Coach Bill Hawkins said any loss is tough and the Hart County loss was no different.

  • Boys soccer lose district game

    The season is over for the LCHS boys soccer team after they lost to Taylor County last Tuesday in the first round of the 18th district tournament.

    The Hawks finished the regular season with a winning record with a 9-8-1 record. The district loss dropped the record to 9-9-1.

    Head Coach Jimmy Adams said Taylor County just simply outplayed them on every aspect of the game.

    Basketball little league signups

    LaRue County Boys Basketball Little League Signups will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 20 at the LCHS Cafeteria and Monday, October 24 at the LCHS Cafeteria from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Forms will be passed out at local schools and will be available on day of signups. Divisions will include K-1st Grade, 2nd-3rd grade, 4th, 5th, 6th grades. Cost is $45 for K-1st grades and $55 for 2nd -6th Grades. For more information contact Paul Childress at 270-734-0722.

  • Youth football - October 19, 2016

    The LaRue County Flag Division defeated New Haven in a double over-time thriller by the score of 43-42. The 7/8-year-old division defeated Campbellsville by a score of 15-6. The 9/10-year-old division defeated Campbellsville by a score of 18-6. The 11/12-year-old division did not play.

  • Youth soccer - October 19, 2016

    The U10 Panthers were defeated by Elizabethtown by a score of 7-1. LaRue U12M1 defeated Radcliff U12M1 by a score of 5-3.

  • Hawks golf finish 19th in state

    The LaRue County High School golf team finished 19th in the KHSAA state golf tournament last weekend.

    The Hawks golf team qualified for the state tournament for the first time since 1995. During the first day of the tournament, the Hawks scored a 329 to finish 19th and miss the cut for the second day as only the top 12 teams advanced.

    Cameron Dawson shot a 76, Taylor Eastridge had an 83; Cam Lasley and Chandler McLaughlin both scored an 85 and Hunter McLaughlin shot a 87.
