    In 1979, Sister Sledge, an American Vocal group recorded the song “We Are Family.” The first lines of the song “We are family, I got all my sisters with me.” For Lady Hawk Presley Brown it has certainly been a family affair, following the example of her three older sisters.

  • Freshman Hawks results

    The freshman Hawks beat Green County Dragons 49-40 in a district matchup on Thursday, January 4.

    The Hawks jumped out to a 21-5 lead at the end of the first quarter using their pressure defense and fast break opportunities. The Dragons cut the Hawks lead to 27-17 at the half by creating turnovers against the Hawks.

  • JV Hawks results

    The Hawks JV team won two big games against Campbellsville and Green County this past week.

    The JV Hawks traveled to Campbellsville on Tuesday, January 2 and came away with a hard fought 52-49 victory against the Campbellsville Tigers.

    The Hawks jumped out to a 26-14 halftime lead. In the second half, Campbellsville mounted a comeback cutting the Hawks lead to 2 points on several occasions. The Hawks made their free throws down the stretch to help seal the game.

  • JV Lady Hawks results

    The JV Lady Hawks are now 2-6 on the season with a win against Adair County and a loss against Bardstown this past week. Their next game is Tuesday, January 16 at home against Bullitt Central at 6 p.m.

    Pickleball LaRue County

    A beginners class for pickelball is being held at the Board of Education office on College Street in Hodgenville at 5 p.m. on Sundays. Regular sessions are held on Monday and Thursday at 5 p.m. All equipment is provided.

    Pickleball Nelson County

    Pickleball activities and opportunities in Bardstown are from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday at the COBEC building on East Muir and First Streets. Enter through the rear of the building and follow signs to the gym.

  • Hawks win Magnolia Bank Classic

    The Hawks varsity basketball team dominated the Magnolia Bank Classic last week as they beat three teams by 20 points or more.

    The tournament was kicked off for the Hawks with a 66-42 win against the Grayson County Cougars on Thursday, December 28.

    The Hawks jumped out to a 18-7 first quarter lead by using their size inside and full court defense. The Hawks led 30-19 at halftime.

    The Hawks continued to click on offense in the third quarter extending their lead to 45-30. The Hawks went on to win by 24 points in the fourth quarter.

  • Lady Hawks go 2-1 in tourney

    The Lady Hawks varsity basketball team went 2-1 with wins against Marion County and Danville in the Banker Hardwood Classic held in Russell County last week.

    The Lady Hawks ended the tournament with a 52-48 win against the Marion County Lady Knights on Saturday, December 30.

    The Lady Hawks struggled at the beginning of the game as they trailed 13-12 at the end of the first quarter and 25-19 at halftime.

  • LCMS Boys fall to Hart County

    Before the Christmas break, the LaRue County Middle School boys basketball had one game remaining on their schedule as the Hawks hosted the visiting Hart County Raiders on Tuesday, December 19.

    The 7th grade Hawks came into the game on a six game winning streak and the Hawks came out firing as they built an 18-12 lead after one quarter of play. In the second quarter, the Hawks endured some early foul trouble and at the end of the second quarter the Hawks found themselves down by a score of 29-25 to the Raiders.
