    The LaRue County varsity softball team lost to Hart County 5-3 in the opening round of the district tournament on Monday.

    The Lady Hawks finished the season with a 13-21 record. They were 6-15 in the region and 1-6 in the district.

    During the game on Monday, the Lady Hawks fell behind early as they trailed 5-0. Attempting a comeback, the Lady Hawks cut the lead to 5-3 in the sixth inning. However, it wasn’t enough as Hart County held on to edge the Lady Hawks.

  • Hawks finish season 27-8

    The LCHS Hawks varsity baseball team finished the regular season with a 27-8 record on the season, 15-3 in region play and 5-0 in the district.

  • Hawks region 2 tournament results

    The Hawks boys track team finished 8 out of 14 teams and the girls track team finished 8 out of 13 teams at the region 2 track meet. The results of the meet are listed below.

    Girls 4 x 800 took 6th place and they are made up of Nichole Thomas, Peyton Murray, Sophe Pepper and Taylor Halprin

    Nichole Thomas finished 4th place in triple jump with a season best of 31-04.50.

    4 x 100 got 4th place with the team of Destiny Kirby, Jada Hunter-Hays, Peyton Murray and Jackie Rigdon

    Pickleball is being played at 5:30 p.m., Mondays and Thursdays at the Board of Education gym on College Street. Pickleball is free to anyone interested in learning the sport, a combination of tennis and ping-pong. All equipment provided.

    LaRue County Park and Recreation Board

  • Hawks back to winning

    The LCHS Hawks varsity baseball team got back to their winning ways after previously losing three straight games.

    The Hawks beat John Hardin 12-5 Monday night. After being down five runs, Colby Skaggs provided the spark that the Hawks needed as he hit his first homerun of his career and finished 3-4 with five RBIs to lead the Hawks to a blowout victory. The Hawks scored eight runs on eight hits, taking a 12-5 lead in the sixth inning.

    The Hawks also rallied back to beat Central Hardin 11-7 last Saturday.

  • Lady Hawks improve win column

    The LaRue County High School Lady Hawks softball team went 2-1 this past week to improve their record to 12-19 on the season.

    The Lady Hawks beat Campbellsville last Wednesday 7-3. Presley Brown went 2-4 with two RBIs, Kaitlyn Warnshuis also went 2-4 with three RBIs and Kourtnee Davenport finished 204 with an RBI. Pitcher Sarah Jo Calhoun was dominant in the circle as she pitched all seven innings and only allowed three runs on five hits, had four strikeouts and walked one.

    To persevere is to persist in anything undertaken, maintaining a purpose in spite of difficulty, obstacles, or discouragement, and continue steadfastly. It is safe to say that the LaRue County Lady Hawks softball team has persevered throughout the 2016 season. The team is currently 12-18, and a #4 seed in the district tournament which LaRue County will host.
