  • Lady Hawks pound Caverna

    The LaRue County Lady Hawks varsity softball team put an end to their eight game losing streak after running away with the Caverna Lady Colonels on Friday, April 14 and beating them 24-5 after three innings.

    The Lady Hawks started the game scoring 10 runs in the first inning which included a three run double by Lindsey Shelton and a two run double by Jordan McClure. The second inning was just as big after Kaitlyn Warnshuis had a two run homerun.

  • Hawks edge Elizabethtown

    The LaRue County Hawks varsity baseball team finished the week 3-1 as they beat their rival Elizabethtown Panthers 9-8 in a thrilling game.

    The Hawks jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning and they added two more runs in the third to lead 5-2. The Hawks added their three more runs in the fourth inning to provide an 8-5 lead.

    A common coach request by any sports team is for their players to be “all in.” These two words simply mean for everyone on the team to invest the time, energy and dedication to the success of the team. For Junior Track member Saul Marin, being “all in” has become a habit for the last two seasons.

  • Hawks freshman baseball results...

    Monday, April 10 the Freshman Hawks lost a close game to the Glasgow Scotties by the score of 5 to 2. Derek Heath took the loss for the Hawks despite only giving up one run in two innings while Dylan Thompson closed the game out pitching three innings of solid relief giving up only one earned run. For the game the Hawks only managed five hits with Brooks Brackett and Derek Heath collecting two apiece and Connor Baker collecting one hit.

  • Hawks go 1-3 in tourney

    The Hawks varsity baseball team went 1-3 in the DeMarini Diamond Classic last weekend.

    On Friday, April 7, the Hawks lost to Farragut of Knoxville, Tennessee 11-0 but they redeemed themselves on the same night with a 6-5 win against Warren County of McMinnville, Tennessee.

    In the game against Farragut, both teams remained scoreless until the final two innings when Farragut piled on their 11 runs. The Hawks had four hits in the game.
