    Pool’s hours The LaRue County Park and Recreation swimming pool will be open weekends only in August. It will be open 1-5 p.m. Sundays and 12:30-5:30 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is $6 for 12 and older, and $3 for under 12. Volleyball season begins The first game of the regular season for the Lady Hawks Volleyball team is Aug. 22 at home against Caverna.     ECTC soccer tryouts scheduled Any graduating seniors, current Elizabethtown Community and Technical College students or other prospective students who want to play soccer are encouraged to attend tryouts. Men’s tryouts are 6-8 p.m. June 6 at Carroll Soccer Complex in Peterson Drive in Elizabethtown. Tryouts for women’s soccer are 6-8 p.m. June 17 at Carroll Soccer Complex.

    LaRue County Chamber of Commerce Golf Scramble The LaRue County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a golf scramble on Friday, April 12, at the LaRue County Golf Course. Rain date is April 19. Entry fee is $65 individual; $260 team. Fee includes lunch, cart, beverages and all contests. Mulligans are $5 each. Shotgun start is at noon; lunch will be served at 11 a.m. Prizes include $400 plus 50 percent of jackpot, hole-in-one and door prizes. For more information, call Krista Levee at 270-358-3411.
