    Football boosters hold barbecue dinner The LaRue County High School Football Boosters will have a barbecue dinner 5-7 p.m.  Sept. 16. Tickets are $6 and will include sandwich, your choice of two sides, dessert and drink. The dinner will take place just inside the field if weather permits or in the LCHS cafeteria in case of rain.     Kentucky Capital Senior Games begin Wednesday in Frankfort The Kentucky Capital Senior Games will be held Sept. 7-11 in Frankfort. Entry fee is $20 for one sport or $25 for more than one sport. Divisions include swimming, cross country, horseshoes, golf, table tennis, tennis, shuffleboard, road race, archery, badminton, racquetball, bowling, cycling, track and field, basketball and volleyball. Each competitor is guaranteed a Kentucky Capital Senior Games T-shirt. Register online at www.unitedwayfranklincounty.org.

    Big Maroon Club dinner and auction Campbellsville University will host its Big Maroon Club dinner and auction beginning at 6 p.m. Aug. 11. The event will be in the Winters Dining Hall on campus. A silent auction begins at 6 p.m.; dinner is at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at $25 per person, with half the price being tax deductible.
