  • VOLLEYBALL: LaRue wins 3 in Slam Jam

     The Lady Hawks’ volleyball team went 3-1 last week in their Abraham Slam Jam tournament.

    LaRue’s Ladies knocked off Fort Knox (25-16, 25-8), Warren East (25-8, 25-21) and East Jessamine (25-12, 25-18) en route to the tournament semifinals, where they fell to eventual champion South Warren (25-18, 25-16).

    South Warren defeated Marion County in three sets (25-18, 22-25, 25-14) to win the championship, avenging a two-set loss earlier in the day to the Lady Knights.

  • FOOTBALL: LaRue falls to Green

    The visiting Green County Dragons led the Hawks Friday night by 21 points going into the fourth quarter.

    The Hawks made a major comeback, scoring 21 points before losing by six points (27-21).

    LaRue County (2-2) will play a non-conference game against Nelson County next Friday.

  • LaRue vs. Green: Football game moved to 7 p.m.

     Tonight’s football game against Green County has been moved to 7 p.m., according to Superintendent Sam Sanders.

    Inclement weather is expected to move into the area and school officials thought it best to schedule the game an hour early.

    The game will be played at Hawk field.

    Also at the game, the LaRue County High School cheerleaders will honor Ashley Long as they promote community awareness of childhood cancer.

  • SOCCER: Hawks fall to E'town

    After eight straight games under Murphy’s Law – what can go wrong will go wrong – Travis Richardson and the slumping Elizabethtown Panthers finally had something go right Tuesday.
    Richardson had one assist and two goals, including the game winner in the final 4 minutes, as the All-State junior striker helped the visiting Panthers finally hold off the LaRue County Hawks, 4-3 in the area rivals’ inaugural meeting.

  • VOLLEYBALL: Lady Hawks defeat Hart

     The Lady Hawks managed a second-set comeback in Thursday’s loss to Central Hardin – but struggled in the first and third sets.

  • SOCCER: Ladies lose to Thomas Nelson

     Visiting Thomas Nelson rolled to an 11-1 mercy-rule win over the LaRue County Lady Hawks on Monday. The game was called 20 minutes early.

    Sophomore forward Rachel Wolf scored LaRue County’s lone goal, while senior goalkeeper Kasey Wells made nine saves as the Lady Hawks (3-3-1) lost their second straight. Thomas Nelson (2-3-2) won its first match since its season opener.

  • FOOTBALL: Hawks defeat Spencer

     It was heartbreak in Hodgenville on Friday night for the Spencer County Bears as a potentially game-winning 35-yard field goal attempt sailed a little wide to the left with just seconds left on the clock, sending the Bears to a 14-12 loss to LaRue County.

    A hard-fought battle from the very beginning, Spencer County took the ball at its own 22-yard-line with just under four minutes remaining to attempt a game winning drive. Behind the tough running of Shawn Boykin, the Bears were able to march down the field and into LaRue County territory.

  • VOLLEYBALL: LADY HAWKS BREAK HART

     The host Lady Hawks steamrolled their way to victory (25-13, 25-6, 25-4) over 18th District foe Hart County Aug. 28, locking up their fourth straight win with a 19-0 run to start the third set.

    Junior middle hitter Ivy Brown led LaRue County (8-2, 2-0 district) with 15 kills and two aces, while senior outside hitter Miranda Hornback chipped in with five aces and two kills.
