  • FOOTBALL: Hawks clawed by Bears

    The LaRue County Hawks lost Friday 49-14 to the Spencer County Bears.

    Senior Koy Lindsey scored for the Hawks in the first quarter. Junior running back Hunter Griffin added a touchdown in the third quarter.

    UP NEXT: LaRue County hosts Green County at 8 p.m. Friday.

  • Soccer teams pick up wins, Nunn scores big for Ladies

    LaRue County 11, Breckinridge County 1

    The Lady Hawks Soccer team picked up their first win of the season Aug. 25 with an impressive 11-1 victory over visiting Breckinridge County.

    Sophomore Gillian Nunn had a sensational game with four goals. Senior Rachel Wolf and her sister, freshman Natalie Wolf each provided two goals as well.

    Senior Nichole Thomas, sophomore Hattie Ward, and full-time goalkeeper Sierra Mullins also chipped in with a goal apiece.

  • LaRue breaks Hart for 33-28 win

    It was a very successful week for the fall sports of LaRue County High School as we saw some highly competitive contests and some special performances.

  • Coach Craft provides mid-season report

    The 18th District Cup Championship came to a close Monday as LaRue County hosted singles play at the 3,087 par 35 LaRue County Golf Club.

    There was a three-way tie for first place as sophomores Hunter McLaughlin and Cameron Dawson each shot a 39 while Hart County’s Matthew Atwell posted the same score.

    Final standings of the three-event cup championship: Hart County with 14 points, LaRue with 12 and Green Co. with 4 points.

  • Durbin fourth in Green All-Comers

    The LaRue County Cross Country Season got off to a “hot” start Thursday as the team traveled to Greensburg to compete in the six-team Green County All-Comers Meet. Temperatures exceeded 95 degrees, therefore the meet was modified to a 1.7 mile course instead of the usual 3.1 length.

    Both the girls and boys finished second overall in the six-team event.

    Senior Kristina Durbin came in fourth with a time of 12:18 in the modified event. Emily Pearman was seventh followed by Alexis Grimes (10th) and Clair Keller (13th).

  • Lady Hawks defeat C’ville, Thomas Nelson

    Aug. 25 – LaRue County 2 sets, Campbellsville 1 set

    The Lady Hawks were able to hold off the home-standing Lady Eagles 2-1 Monday night. LaRue won the first set 25-20 while Campbellsville answered with a 22-25 win to force the third and final set.

    The Lady Hawks responded with a 25-16 third set victory to secure their third win on the season.

    Junior Keeahna Bowen led the way with 20 assists and 5 aces. Allyson and Tessa Yingling both had seven kills for the Lady Hawks.

  • SOCCER: Nunn leads Lady Hawks to win

    When North Hardin hosts LaRue County on Sept. 8, it’s a safe bet the Lady Trojans will do a better job of marking Gillian Nunn.

    Because on Saturday afternoon at LaRue County, the Lady Hawks’ sophomore forward did whatever she wanted against them.

    Nunn scored all her team’s goals in guiding LaRue County to a 4-1 win over its 5th Region rival.

    “They were trying to pressure us, but we had some good passes and breakaways through their defense,” said Nunn, who recorded her third multi-goal game of the young season.

  • FOOTBALL: Hawks defeat Hart

    Junior running back Hunter Griffin caught a 44-yard touchdown from senior quarterback Caleb Sheffer with 1:17 left in the game Friday night to lift the LaRue County Hawks to a 33-28 win over the visiting Hart County Raiders.

  • New head coach for competitive cheer squad

    For the LaRue County High School Cheerleading program, change is a common theme. To be a successful competitive cheer program it is necessary to make small and sometimes big changes in routines and positions often throughout a season. This year the program will undergo a change in leadership and personnel.

  • Dawson's Sports Week in Review

     Monday, Aug. 18

    • Volleyball vs. North Bullitt:  Lady Hawks come from a 1-2 set deficit to defeat the Lady Eagles in the first game of the season 3-2.

     

    • Girls Soccer at John Hardin (lost 2-7)

    Gillian Nunn scored two goals while Natalie Wolf and Nichole Thomas with the assist on each goal.  Goalkeeper Sierra Mullins with 11 saves.
