  • BASEBALL: Regional Tournament Draw

    ELIZABETHTOWN: Elizabethtown plays host to the 5th Region baseball tournament, which gets under way Monday at 11 a.m. Opening the tournament is 18th District champ LaRue County (27-9) against 17th District runner-up and tourney host Elizabethtown (14-22).

    Bethlehem (17-19) is up next at 1:30 p.m. against 20th District runner-up Adair County (25-13). The Eagles and Indians met once this season, with Adair prevailing in a 12-inning thriller at Dean Watts Park in early April, 4-3.

  • SOFTBALL: Lady Hawks play in Region Tournament Monday


    LEBANON - The long-awaited showdown between the Central Hardin Lady
    Bruins and the Green County Lady Dragons won't happen Wednesday night at
    Marion County.

    After the quarterfinal pairings for finalized at Saturday morning's 5th
    Region Softball Tournament draw meeting, the eight-team field's top two
    ranked teams drew into the same bracket for the third time in four
    years.

  • Michelle McKamey plays in State Tennis Tournament

     Michelle McKamey, a seventh grader, helped lead her Lone Oak High School team from Paducah to the KHSAA Tennis State Championship. 

    Michelle plays the #1 singles spot for the Lone Oak varsity team. They defeated Louisville Sacred Heart 3-1 in the semifinals with McKamey winning her match 6-0 6-2. Then, Lone Oak defeated Covington Notre Dame in the finals 3-2.

  • SOFTBALL: Lady Hawks fall in District Tournament

     The Lady Hawks fell 4-0 Thursday to Green County in the 18th District Softball Tournament championship game.

    Both teams advance to next week's 5th Region Tournament in Marion County.

  • BASEBALL: Hawks are District Champs

    LaRue County still can’t be dethroned from the 18th District Baseball Tournament winner’s circle.

    After winning their 11th straight championship, the Hawks have a little bit of their swagger back.

  • DISTRICT SOFTBALL TOURNEY: Lady Hawks defeat Hart

    Two innings from leading second-seeded LaRue County into the 18th District Softball Tournament final, Brigitte Skaggs lost her release point.

    After dominating most of Tuesday night’s semifinal, the sophomore pitcher couldn’t find the strike zone and here came third-seeded Hart County storming back from a four-run deficit.

    With the bases loaded in the top of the sixth, coach Aaron Howell called upon senior Brittany Enlow to close the game out and the crafty veteran ended it.

  • DISTRICT TOURNEY: Hawks defeat Caverna in semifinal

     The LaRue County Hawks advanced to the 18th District Championship game with an 8-2 win over the Caverna Colonels Monday night.
